About you
We are looking for a top-caliber, technically capable Production Operator who embraces change, adapts fast, makes decisions quickly, possesses self-confidence and is a lifelong learner.
As Production Operator, located in Jabel Ali (ARE), you will operate one of our production Plants in a safe, reliable and optimal manner. You will perform and report on operational related activities per the Operations Dashboard (OPD)-Tasks List. Furthermore, you will work together with the Shift Team members you to efficiently anticipate and resolve unplanned events within the capabilities of the shift team and effectively escalate issues that cannot be resolved.
Also, you will work on each of the following tasks:
- Performing routine operation of basic control systems and devices to monitor levels, temperatures, pressures and flow rates and transfer of products.
- Operate valves and similar equipment including the proper clearing and isolation of equipment. Handle and charge chemicals safely and per process
- Follow operating discipline, procedures and practices to ensure a safe and efficient operation of assigned duties.
- Control, monitor and make necessary adjustments on control systems and manually operated equipment.
- Troubleshoot process, product quality, safety, and environmental problems and identify equipment requiring maintenance.
- Act as a resource for other Technicians on job tasks and prioritization of work activities.
- Take ownership for the accurate completion of all assigned tasks.
- Complete all duties as assigned with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship
- Perform scheduled operational and related tasks and tasks that arise as a result of resolving unplanned events.
- Conduct effective shift relief, as defined in facility specific operating discipline and tools, to ensure effective communication and handoff to arriving shift team.
- Maintain qualification in assigned areas, per facility policy, and complete training goals in a timely manner. This includes using discretionary time to address skills and knowledge gaps.
- Perform Immediate Response activities, as assigned.
- Initiate and document preliminary investigations according to plant specific process/criteria and participates in formal and informal Root Cause Investigations for events involved in or by request.
- Track and utilize the plant's key performance metrics on shift that are applicable to the Operating the Plant role to optimize operations and identify improvement opportunities. Uses process knowledge and skills to make improvements in plant performance and operating discipline. Proactively identify improvements and opportunities utilizing the facility improvement processes, appropriate management of change processes and communication tools.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/engineering in any technical fields.
- Associate’s degree in a process technology, mechanical or engineering related field and two (2) or more years of manufacturing experience as a Production Technician/Operator.
- Production Unit certifications typically required.
- Safety mindset
Your skills, knowledge and abilities include:
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Good interpersonal skills are required.
- Strong attention to small details and precision in all operations
- Good analytical, critical thinking and evaluation abilities
Willing and able to meet physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Able to lift hoses, bolt flanges and operate valves and similar equipment as a normal part of the job.
- Familiar with UAE climate conditions.
- Able and willing to work in different shifts, 8 or 12 hours duty
