Senior Vice President - Marsh IMEA Construction Practice, Marsh, Dubai, UAE

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Vice President (SVP) to join the IMEA Construction Practice team at Marsh, based in Dubai. This role is integral to driving growth, client servicing, and strategic risk management in the construction sector throughout the IMEA region, encompassing infrastructure, oil, gas, petrochemical, and power industries. You will lead client engagements, leverage your expertise to build and maintain client relationships, and contribute significantly to Marsh's regional success.

Key Responsibilities

Client Servicing

    Independently manage large, complex construction projects and lead the team in developing go-to-market strategies.
    Engage in deep understanding of clients' strategic priorities, offering tailored advice on risk strategies, insurance and contractual matters.
    Utilize industry expertise to assess client exposures and recommend solutions for complex risk management needs.
    Develop and oversee renewal and placement strategies across multiple zones.
    Present innovative solutions to clients and work closely with teams to attract new projects and clients.
    Ensure high-quality deliverables and oversee placement execution.


Business Development

    Drive revenue growth by actively maintaining a sales funnel and nurturing relationships across the IMEA region.
    Identify and pursue prospective clients, ensuring a robust and refreshed pipeline.
    Prepare reports, respond to tenders, and participate in client presentations to secure new business.
    Engage with country leaders and business development teams to capitalize on regional opportunities.
    Organize and participate in thought leadership events, promoting Marsh's expertise in construction risk management.


Broking and Placement

    Collect and process client exposure information, draft and submit placement documents, and coordinate with underwriters.
    Present terms to clients, guide placement decisions, and negotiate with insurers and reinsurers as necessary.
    Ensure timely and accurate completion of placement and deliverables.


General Leadership

    Act as a thought leader, staying informed on industry developments and regulatory requirements.
    Mentor and develop a high-performing team of construction professionals.
    Represent the practice at industry events and maintain compliant business practices.


Skills and Experience

Essential Skills

    15+ years of experience in a senior client-facing role within the construction/engineering advisory industry
    Strong understanding of construction contracts, insurance, and risk management
    Proven expertise in client engagement and relationship-building, both with clients and internal teams.
    Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with a focus on long-term client satisfaction.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to navigate complex risk and insurance discussions.
    Organized and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving capabilities.
    A proactive team player with a strong work ethic and a commitment to achieving high standards.
    Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are preferred.


Preferred Qualifications

    Extensive experience in the construction insurance industry in a senior client-facing role with a track record of leadership.
    Knowledge of regional markets and regulations across the IMEA region; additional language skills are an advantage.
    Willingness to travel regionally as needed.

Job Description:

Parsons is now seeking to hire an experienced BIM Coordinator with a desire to work on creating innovative, practical solutions to various projects that enhance the fabric of our community.  In this role you will be responsible to support the scope development, scope management and technical performance of third party design consultants and contractors to ensure project goals and objectives are met with regards to BIM.  Supports planning and definition of project goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in depth knowledge of client objectives, contract terms and corporate policies.  Provides discipline specific knowledge and experience as part of the overall design management team.

What You’ll Be Doing

    Provide progress and performance updates on fortnightly and monthly basis e.g. Client (Appointing Party) and Leads.

    Support the setup, development, configuration, establishment of the Common Data Environment (CDE) for Project use e.g. ProjectWise, BIM 360 etc.

    Develop and maintain specific BIM software template files to assure compliance to standards.

    Develop, monitor, coordinate, and report on the development of Pre-and Post-appointment BIM Execution Plan, Task and Master Information Delivery Plan (TIDP and MIDP) for design delivery.

    Manage, support, and validate Project design delivery e.g. modeling, detailing, scheduling, and extraction(s).

    Develop the process, perform, measure, and ensure the highest quality for all BIM package submissions in accordance with local and intranational standards and project requirements during all Project stages.

    Supervise and oversee the review, monitoring and reporting on the development of clash detection and resolution process and fully coordinated models with design leads.

    Monitor and support the data collection process and validate models for Construction Operation Building Information Exchange (COBie) for the design stage data drop(s) as required.

    Prepare validation reports for milestone BIM package submissions.

    Oversee the validation and export of model geometry and data to schedules for internal design and commercial activities.

    Support the quality department conducting audits and record non-conformance(s).

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

    Bachelor's degree in Architecture/ Engineering (Civil, MEP, Structural, Built Environment IT, Environmental/Sustainability) or related technical/business field.

    5 - 10+ years working with BIM in the built environment.

    Incumbent should have a broad general technical, project management, and business background.

    Professional registration preferred (AIA, RIBA, CEng, PE, LEED or similar).

    Proficient in a range of BIM authoring, scripting, design review, coordination, simulations, and collaboration applications and/or platforms e.g. Revit, Civil 3D, Open Roads Designer, Open Bridges Designer, Dynamo, Grasshopper, Navisworks, Cost X, Synchro, BIM 360, ProjectWise etc.

JOB TITLE: Supervisor - Construction (Lifting)

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·     Review lift plans for Non-Routine (Complex and Critical Categories), Weighing procedures, and Loadout Manuals with Construction Support Operations (CSO) department at home office. Must be in line with Petrofac and project HSSE policies and guidelines.

·       Working closely with Construction lead and team leads to develop lift and haul schedules at site and assist wide optimization and utilization of lifting resources according to site priorities.

·    Assessing lifting / hauling operations to provide planning, selection of crane, lifting gear & equipment, instruction, and necessary safety precaution.

·         Support in developing lift study, heavy haul plans, weighing and loadout plans, method statement and JSA’s.

·         Conduct daily site audits to ensure HSE and Lifting / Hauling inspections and procedure compliance.

·         Monitoring of project lifting & rigging operations to ensure all lifts are performed in accordance with approved rigging plans and procedure

·         Qualified person for all Load-out, Load-in and Erection activities using lifting equipment.

·         Ensure all lifting / hauling equipment are well maintained, inspected and certified by approved 3rd party and meets the regulatory frequency.

·         Ensure all personnel involved in lifting / hauling operation are trained, competent and 3rd party certified.

·         Reviewing and approving routine lift plan, rigging & lifting procedure and lift studies including subcontractor’s lift plan.

·         Confirming there is an effective procedure for reporting defects and incidents and taking any corrective action.

·         Ensuring that the implementation of Petrofac procedures are in place and sub – contractors adhering to them.

·         Support in conducting Verification of Competency assessments onsite.

The above is an outline of key duties and accountabilities, rather than an exclusive or exhaustive list of responsibilities. The post holder is expected to undertake any tasks which may reasonably be expected within the scope of the position.

 The postholder is expected to adhere to the Golden Rules of Safety (transitioning to ‘The 9 Lifesaving Rules in 2020) and the Petrofac Values

Knowledge & Qualifications:

·         2+ rigging & lifting site experience in direct hire construction with an international oil & gas EPC company and with subcontractors overseeing or managing project lifting and rigging operation in all stages including modular, static, rotating equipment’s as well as heavy/oversize transport operation.

·         Minimum 5 years’ experience as a rigging supervisor.

·          Must be college graduate preferably an engineer in profession.

Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following criteria:

·         Experience working in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS/FSU), Middle East, and/or North Africa

·         Prior experience working with a diverse international workforce
