We need a NR : Technical Superintendent

Job Summary and Purpose

Lead the overall technical management (including technical services provided by third party managers) of LNG/LPG vessels under direct management of NSQL, in a reliable, safe and cost efficient manner. Support various projects and studies related to fleet in order to ensure efficient and reliable operations, as well as ensure that all ships are being operated in compliance with the applicable regulations and legislations as well as class requirements and industry standards.

Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities:

Standardization:

1. Maintain high technical and operational standards for the vessels in order to meet the reliability benchmarks.

2. Strive to achieve industry-wide best standards for vessels, dry docking, repairs and performance by application of statistical analysis on repair periods, frequency of repairs, time of repairs, etc. as well as preparation of database containing details of fuel consumption, equipment failure and spare parts. Also schedule periodic ship visits and inspections in order to track achievement against best standards.

3. Contribute to various projects and studies related to fleet in order to improve quality and standards of vessels.

4. Develop policies and procedures related to ship management, and ensure sign off through MOC process.

Maintenance System:

5. Monitor the system of planned maintenance while ensuring that the same is kept up-to-date and compliant to regulatory requirements.

6. Assist in the technical and feasibility analysis pertaining to new or replaced vessels equipment and systems.

Operational Support:

7. Render expert technical and marine engineering advice as well as assist in shipping in order to ensure reliable, safe and cost efficient operations.

8. Resolve all technical issues and propose solutions and recommendation for the same. Explore any improvement or modification required in vessels while also tracking their status for implementation.

Financial Support:

9. Prepare budget for vessels, track variances with actual costs as well as take steps to control those variances.

10. Ensure that expenditures are controlled while making sure that set standards are maintained, unplanned issues resolved and vessel performance maximized.

11. Participate, as required, with purchase section in tender evaluation and tender preparation for sourcing of equipment, spare parts and support services.

12. Provide justification and clearance for contractors and service providers' invoices against materials supplied or services provided to the fleet.

Accountabilities - 2

Regulatory Support:

13. Ensure that vessels comply with all regulatory requirements including class and flag as well as certificates and surveys being valid and up-to-date.

14. Monitor environmental compliance of vessels and its operations.

Safety:

15. Conduct periodic safety & technical audits, vetting of vessels as well as tracking status of incident investigation. Also prepare systems for incident response and contingency plans as part of the risk management exercise.

16. Performs duties and responsibilities under the guidance of Company Incident Commander as stipulated by Emergency Response Plan.

17. Also render emergency response and support in event of incidents and/or emergencies to the vessel or company as the need be.

Staff Performance:

18. Manage ship staff in term of monitoring their performance, undertake appraisals and coordinate with Marine Personnel Department on recommendations.

Dry Docking:

19. Prepare, arrange and review dry docking specifications and documentations prior to and post every dry-docking.

20. Attend and monitor the dry docking to ensure safety, efficiency, accuracy, quality and time schedule of repair work .

21. Monitor personally all details of dry-docking and major planned repairs and ensure that these are in accordance to the Maintenance System in place (SMS)

22. Participate in price negotiations in post dock review meetings.

Relationship Management:

23. Maintain interaction on issues related to potential fleet projects and long-term technical issues with third party managers.

24. Guide supply and contracts division on entering into strategic contracts with key vendors and parallel agreements with third party managers.

Generic Accountabilities:

Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment (QHSE):

25. Adhere to all relevant QHSE policies, procedures, instructions and controls so that NAKILAT provides a safe, world class, secure and environmentally responsible service to customers, the public and its own people.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures:

26. Implement approved policies, processes and procedures, and provide instructions to subordinates to ensure their proper implementation.

Others:

27. Act as the proxy of the company at various industry forums as may be required.

28. Monitor and analyze guarantee claims and recommend on response.

29. Assist in compilation of Insurance Claim documentation.

30. Assist the Head of Technical in the preparation of periodic management reports.

31. Carry out any other duties as directed by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications, Experience and Job Skills

Qualifications:

• Marine Engineering degree (Class 1), preferably in motors and steam, or any other equivalent/relevant degree.

• Sailed as chief engineer on board LNG/VLG Carriers

Experience:

• Minimum 8-12 years’ overall experience, with a minimum 2 years' experience in a similar capacity supervising LNG/LPG vessels, OR

• Minimum 2 years' experience of managing large scale repairs/maintenance activities on LPG/LNG vessels, OR

• Minimum 2 years' experience as Chief Engineer on board LNG/LPG vessels

Job Specific Skills:

• Project management, budget construction and making, engineering trouble shooting, management, and negotiation skills

• Ability to conduct risk assessments

• Ability to conduct accident investigations, root cause analysis with recommendations and provide comprehensive reports

• Knowledge of technical operations for Large Gas Carriers owned and managed

• Knowledge of cargo containment system, cargo handling equipment and systems on board Large Gas Carriers owned and managed

• Knowledge of propulsion plant on board Large Gas Carriers owned and managed

• Up-to-date knowledge of international and local marine rules and regulations

Electrician

A General Electrician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing electrical equipment to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience.

What will I be doing?

As a General Electrician, you are responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing electrical equipment to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A General Electrician will also be required to ensure work is done to code and provide assistance during emergencies. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical equipment
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
• Inspect electrical equipment to ensure coding compliance
• Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools
• Provide assistance during emergencies by operating floodlights and generators, placing flares, and driving needed vehicles
• Ensure quality inspections are carried out in line with company standards
• Ensure good relationships are built with internal and external customers
• Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned

We need a Site Inspector - ICT/Comms,

Role Summary:

Oversees on-site installation of ICT and ELV systems to confirm alignment with design specifications, standards, and integration requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect structured cabling, CCTV, access control, BMS, AV, and related systems to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Verify installation routing, labelling, terminations, and containment systems, ensuring all work meets quality benchmarks and safety regulations.
• Ensure coordination with electrical and architectural elements, liaising with other trades to resolve conflicts and optimise system integration.
• Support testing, commissioning, and system integration reviews, documenting results and recommending improvements where necessary.
• Maintain detailed inspection logs and raise concerns for rectification, tracking issues through to resolution.
• Conduct regular site walks to identify potential issues before they impact project timelines or quality.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications to ensure installations align with design intent.
• Provide technical guidance and support to installation teams, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
• Participate in project meetings, offering insights on installation progress, challenges, and solutions.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols, reporting any violations or concerns immediately.
• Verify that all installed equipment meets specified performance criteria and is properly configured for optimal operation.
• Collaborate with project managers to develop and maintain installation schedules, ensuring timely completion of work.
• Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures specific to ICT and ELV systems.
• Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes relevant to ICT and ELV systems.
• Prepare comprehensive reports on installation quality, progress, and any deviations from project specifications for stakeholder review.

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for ensuring the serviceability of all electrical equipment and systems under his department. The supervisor shall also be responsible for leading, managing and supervising a team of maintenance personnel to carry out preventive/corrective maintenance works as well as new installation works on various types of electrical installations within the assigned facilities and systems to ensure that all electrical systems are in immaculate condition for a safe and seamless operation. Responsible for effective and proper use of all resources and manpower with all aspects associated to the work.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• To plan, schedule, assign and supervise personnel in his custodial care for the execution of maintenance and improvement works in accordance to manufacturer and statutory requirements.
• To plan and supervise day to day maintenance activities to ensure completion within specified time frame.
• To conduct daily briefing of staff with attendance recording.
• To supervise the work methods and processes so as to ensure it is safe, efficient and the output of work is of high standards.
• To generate daily/weekly management reports for the assets availability as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Accountable for all spare withdrawal from store and proper usage on site.
• To ensure availability of all required essential spare at all times.
• Accountable for planning and conducting in-house technical, safety trainings and briefings to personnel under his supervision.
• Responsible for proper inspection of all assets issued to the department which includes common tools, personal tools, equipment, communication equipment and vehicles etc.
• To conduct audit inspections of systems and infrastructures in HIA/DIA and ensure quality standards and safety are met as per the recommended practices.
• To raise requisitions for spares and services as and when required.
• To plan, assign and supervise daily activities such as preventive maintenance schedules, shift duty roster and improvements works.
• Maintain records of all works, timesheets, attendance, leave and training records.
• To respond and attend to emergency calls after office hours and during the weekends.
• To carry out inspection of completed works by external vendors and to ensure all specifications and regulatory requirements are met.
• To perform shift work.
• Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Qualifications and Experience:

• High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent with Minimum 3 years of job-related experience.

OR

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 2 years of job-related experience

Preferred

• Valid Qatar Driving License.

Job Specific Skills:

• Experience in power systems operation and maintenance is a must

• Experience in HV/MV/LV Electrical Operation and Maintenance

• Electrical Protection/SCADA Operational Exposure

• Experience in Power Plant Operation and Maintenance

• Experience in Fire Life and Safety Systems

• Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
• Knowledge of electrical applications for high and low voltage electrical systems.
• Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical systems.
• Ability to prepare simple incident/progress reports.
• To be able to carry out fault finding on all types of electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret all types of technical drawings, layouts and as-built drawings.

• Awareness of airport operational restraints.

• Skill in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment and components.

• Well versed with the electrical rules and regulations.

• Able to work on shift pattern and after office hours for any emergency response.

• Knowledge of Kahramaa electrical rules and regulations.
