About the job:
We are looking for a seasoned product manager who can support our hotel distribution platform, product team. The ideal candidate has a product mindset and is able to drive discovery and delivery processes. Preferably with a travel background and a good level of understanding of technology. Knowledge of hotel distribution tools and business operations will be highly appreciated. In this dynamic role, you will dive deep into the operations and customer-enabling products and work directly with our other product and engineering teams to ensure our platform can provide high-quality service to fulfill the needs of our customers.
Responsibilities:
Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototype construction and final product development by engineering teams.
Be the voice of the stakeholders for the product team throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from definition to sunsetting of the product.
Collaborate with product teams, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure a solid and well-rounded understanding of products and developing needs.
Be the high-availability resource for answering questions posed by engineers and designers about stories in the backlog on a day-to-day basis.
Author of user stories and acceptance criteria.
Ensure that story content and prioritization is aligned with larger strategic objectives.
Organize stand-ups, grooming meetings, estimation meetings, retrospectives, and other key meetings for the scrum team.
Manage scope and drive trade-off decisions in conjunction with stakeholders.
Identify blockers that will impact timeline, scope, cost, or other project variables and escalate to the appropriate stakeholders.
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including product specifications, API documentation, and user guides.
Conduct market research and customer feedback analysis to understand customer needs and pain points related to content consumption and interaction.
In-depth understanding of data structures and algorithms, with the ability to analyze and optimize data processing workflows.
Proficiency in data analysis and understanding of data pipelines to collect, process, and curate diverse datasets.
Ability to dive into technical details when necessary, providing valuable insights and guidance to the development team.
Used customer feedback and data-driven insights to improve product features and user experience continually.
Implemented A/B testing and data-driven experimentation to refine product features.
Demonstrated expertise in coaching and guiding Assistant Product Managers or Product Analysts.
Profile Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the travel industry.
Problem-solver - you are effective at diagnosing root cause issues and developing creative approaches for solving challenges
Customer-centric - you have a customer-first mentality, and are effective at working with people with varying degrees of technical ability
Organized - you are effective at working with multiple teams at once, and are effective at adept at prioritizing across competing priorities; you have strong project management skills
Analytic Thinking - you know how to process data to detect patterns and potential opportunities
Communicator and relationship builder - you have extremely strong communication skills; you’re effective at communicating and building relationships with all 3 types of stakeholders you’ll be working with - Product team, Software Engineers, and Internal stakeholders
Entrepreneurial and analytical; effective at managing change in a fast-moving and constantly evolving business
Experience with modern technology stacks, including cloud, Google Analytics, microservices, API’s, etc.
Experienced in leading cross-functional teams
Proficient in data analytics using Excel and Tableau
Experience with supporting tools like Jira, and Slack
