Objective:
Provide input to and lead implementation of strategy for financial planning, analysis, and management, advising the management team and influencing strategic direction in line to business objectives, Group standards, accounting principles and regulations.
General Responsibilities:
Provide input to the Controlling strategy including budgeting, financial planning, financial strategies, and budgets considering functional objectives, Group guidelines and standards, accounting principles and regulations.
Oversee delivery and quality of Controlling and Budgeting initiatives and activities to provide financial risk and opportunity analysis of operations, investment reviews and control.
Lead Controlling and Budgeting activities and initiatives with significant impact on overall results and/ or significant business risk potential and provide highest level of and recommendations to senior management.
Coordinate budgets for all major Controlling projects and closely work with all BU controllers.
Ensure timely provision of reports and information, and support business planning cycles covering budgeting, forecasting and mid-term planning and implementation of management accounting practices such as performance management criteria including costing & profitability measures.
Ensure that financial analysis, performance related reporting and relevant financial information are provided accurately and as per timelines to enable appropriate management decisions.
Evaluate and advise on ongoing and future business activities with regard to profitability and financial risk.
Develop and lead implementation of Controlling and Budgeting systems and processes that reflect best practices and work across multiple business areas and countries.
Develop, implement, and achieve adherence to accounting policies, programs, and systems to implement control.
Develop policies and methods related to financial area, budgets, and general costs for preparation of statements necessary for budget control.
Ensure functioning and further development as per requirement of global reporting software (CREST).
Support innovation that influences the way the business operates and its profitability.
Analyze and resolve complex issues related to Controlling such as adjusting for taxes, VAT, varying local legal requirements, etc.
Significantly improve, change, or adapt existing Controlling and Budgeting processes, systems, techniques and methods for enhanced effectiveness and efficiency.
Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance & Accounting (mandatory).
Profession Finance & Accounting Qualification like CPA, ACA (mandatory).
MBA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration (preferable).
8+ years’ experience in finance & Accounting, with at least 5 years of leadership experience (mandatory).
Knowledge & Skills:
Provide input to and lead the implementation of the Accounting & Accounting Governance strategy to timely generate accounting information, meet reporting requirements, statutory returns to regulatory authorities, ensure quality of financial data and achieve compliance to accounting practices in line with accounting principles, financial policies, controlling guidelines, Company and Shareholder/Group standards and legal requirements.
Budgets, Cost Allocation, Balance Sheet, Financial Reporting, Financial Statements, Financial Planning, Forecasting, Financial Risk Management, Strategic Planning, Data Visualization, Microsoft Excel, Business Case, Customer Profitability, Investments, Compliance, Financial Policies, Finance IT Systems, Technology Trends, Workflow Automation, Change Management, DPDHL Business Knowledge, Business Processes, Business Strategy, Project Management, Stakeholder Management, Influencing, Feedback, Presentation & Storytelling, Facilitation, Negotiation, People Management, Resourcing.
Communicate and influence senior business leaders outside of own job area to accept practices and approaches.
Develop strong, trusting relationships with senior business leaders across Shareholders
Cooperate with and coordinate 3rd parties e.g., external service providers.
