 OB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia.  We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The purpose of this role is to lead the provision and correct management of data required by the IMS Maintenix function, in accordance with Typhoon Technical Support Services' (TTSS) procedures, in a timely fashion to ensure there is no impact on SMU’s scheduled maintenance programme. To lead aspects of the Typhoon Technical Support Services' (TTSS) output to superiors, Approved Maintenance Organizations (AMO), suppliers and customers and, as required, leading personnel involved in TTSS activities.

Support the integration and improvement of TTSS’ activities, while maintaining strict compliance with Continuing Airworthiness (CA) requirements, Approved Data requirements and independence from the AMO. With the role responsibilities, develop solutions to enhance TTSS’ business operations, lead change management within the CA environment and manage the TTSS interfaces with customers, suppliers and In-Kingdom Industry Partners

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible to the Continuing Airworthiness Organization (CAO) Services Manager for undertaking Typhoon technical support within the TSC at KFdAB, Taif, KSA.
  • Control Maintenix Integrated Maintenance Solution (IMS) data by implementing a stringent data policy regime, to ensure confidence across the fleet management area in support of the depth maintenance programme and satisfy the data analysis requirements of the In-Service Data Management Team.
  • Assess Data Change Requests (DCR) and any corresponding IMS or Engineering Sub System (ESS) changes to sustain, through life, Typhoon Reference Data.
  • Test Reference and Business data changes before implementation into the live IMS Maintenix system.
  • Resolve reference data queries, defining amendments or issue new data, together with an implementation plan, authorising manual or automatic script file changes.
  • Assess/compare data integrity relating to aircraft and component life data stored in separate sources including ESS, Technical Publications and IMS Maintenix.
  • Analyse Technical Specialist Reports and data provided by In-Service Data Management Team, to identify adverse trends and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain local Processes and Procedures relating to ESS Data Integrity.
  • Establish and maintain communications between the UK-based In Service Support Team (ISST), In-Kingdom Industry Partners (IKIP), Typhoon Design Support Team, the Typhoon Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO), European Industry via the BTSC at Warton as appropriate and the RSAF, ensuring that Technical Query (TQ) and other discrete tasks are satisfied within contracted KPIs
  • Prepare inputs to monthly and other TTSS performance reports, summarizing TQ activities, record TQ performance and proposing potential improvements.
  • Act as a Typhoon IMS and ESS SME and provide technical advice to AMO, RSAF and other TTSS stakeholders (within approved data) as required.
  • Support TTSS’ data analysis, including from the In-Service Data Management Team, in order to identify trends in maintenance or operations and to identify and propose potential improvements.
  • Provide structured on-the-job training for RSAF and Saudi National Technical Specialists in form of training, coaching, advice and mentoring as required

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • Have comprehensive aircraft maintenance experience supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training and have extensive experience in a relevant role (to the role described in this JD).
  • Minimum HND in a relevant Technical discipline, or Part 66 Category C qualified, or suitable equivalent.

Desirable

  • Able to work on their own initiative to resolve complex technical issues.
  • An understanding of company PtM policies, processes and procedures.
  • Broad aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge.

RECRUITMENT

Essential:

  • A Familiar level of knowledge of the Typhoon, including formal training (‘Q’ Course).
  • Practitioner level knowledge of the aircraft maintenance environment.
  • A Familiar level of knowledge of Continuing Airworthiness.
  • Practitioner level skills of Aircraft Maintenance Programming.
  • Practitioner level skills of aircraft modifications, technical instructions and Part M Technical Services.
  • Demonstrable experience investigating Reference Data errors and implementing updates and corrective actions.
  • A Familiar level of skills of aircraft fleet management principles and Part M Quality Assurance Management.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the RSAF, M&CA regulation, KFdAB operations.
  • Working experience of TrilogiView and the Typhoon ESS.
