The new colleague will be accountable for the complete management of the Airport Depot, Hydrant and Into-plane activities. It includes all Operations, HR, Maintenance (including inspection and testing) and HSSE activities in accordance with the Site Operating standards.
This role has a team of site-based employees reporting into it. The role needs to interface with various stakeholders, these include JV Operating Committee, JV Technical Committee, the Air bp support team at Asset, Region and Centre to facilitate necessary SME support and internal BP assurance process.

Airport Termination Manager – DWC
(fixed-term opportunity till May 2024 with the possibility to extend)

If you join our team, you may have the following responsibilities:
  • The Operations at DWC includes both Into-Plane and Fuel Farm NOJV operations. This role is expected to be in due course accountable for both the Into-Plane and Fuel Farm Operations, and as such supervise all staff on site, that includes staff from all the stakeholders, as well as any 3rd party contractors on site.
  • Scope of accountability will be aligned to a phased transition of Air bp’s responsibilities as Lead Participant for the Into-Plane and Fuel Farm Operations. In the transition phase, the ATM will maintain necessary interfaces with the incumbent Fuel Farm Manager to ensure alignment between Fuel Farm and Into-Plane Operations.
  • Be accountable for the implementation of correct quality control procedures, the maintenance of satisfactory documentation, the quality of product received by the airport depot, the quality of product stored and handled within the depot, the quality of product transferred to the into plane companies or sold to the customers at the airport, the training of all staff at the site who are nominated as Product Quality Inspectors.
  • Ensure all fixed and mobile equipment is well maintained in the depot, and hence required to ensure that appropriate site-specific preventive maintenance schedules are in place for all equipment and that these are current. Make sure that the fixed and mobile assets on site are appropriate for the level of business and fit for purpose and escalate through the line any areas of concern
  • Responsible for managing Stakeholders including Airport authorities, Statutory authorities and Throughputter representatives, as well as representing the JV with the airport authorities and related stakeholders for all operations and HSSE matters.
  • Be accountable for all Administrative duties in the depot. This includes but not limited to Sales, stock management, overtime, petty cash, record keeping, data inputting. Routinely checking the accuracy of these tasks when performed by their staff.
  • Prepare Capital and Revenue Budget proposals for the Depot and implementing and controlling the Revenue budget. Report management information to the appropriate levels in the organization, that is bp and the JV as case may be. Be accountable for communicating stock requirements, considering any changes in demand patterns; as well as for the stock control at the airport and being able to identify trends, irregularities and implementing remedial action.
In this role, we have the following requirements:
  • Engineering graduate OR High-Level Diploma in any engineering discipline OR Bachelor’s Degree in Science.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Petroleum Terminal Operations of which at least 5 years are in a senior supervisor/manager level in an Airport Fuel Depot and preferably including Into-Plane Operation.
  • Senior Supervisory or Site Leadership experience in Airport Storage, Hydrant and Into-Plane Operations is preferred
  • Excellent Communication and Leadership skills especially JV Management
  • Good financial understanding
  • Fluent spoken and good written English
  • Written and spoken Arabic would be an advantage.
  • Good computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
