Job Purpose:
Responsible for all the station Freight operations - Air, Sea & Land including planning, establishing, negotiating and updating all rates. Handle all freight reporting, manage the invoicing process and finalize agreements with carriers and local trucking and packing companies in accordance with Aramex freight quality standards to ensure customers’ management teams requests are met.
Key Responsibilities :
Typical duties included are but not limited to:
Follows-up with the airport operations on daily basis to make sure that all incoming & outgoing shipments have been recovered and delivered to the carriers in accordance to the QOSS.
Monitor the recovery and update for both export and import shipments on the FTS.
Coordinate between the CMT & Clearance teams on the status of the shipment’s under clearance.
Updating the airfreight rates on the freight market.
Studying local market to make sure that Aramex is still a major competitor on the rates and services being offered by the local competitors.
Negotiates rates with the airlines in coordination with the station manager and the freight operations manager and product manager.
Optimizing routes and looking for the best carrier to use on any given route
Monitoring the performance of the cargo center at the station regularly.
Follows-up to assure that all QOSS standards and procedures are implemented.
Develops good relationships with ocean liners, airlines and trucking companies and any other supplier that may be needed for service.
Monitors the customer management teams selling to make sure that Aramex is not losing on any given route.
Review the shipment job costing sheet to make sure that all charges has been accounted for according to the available agreements.
Follow up with the dispatchers to make sure that all scheduled pickups and deliveries have been done.
Attend station’s weekly meeting to discuss latest issues related to the product.
Hold regular meetings with the team to relay updates.
Visiting customers with the customer management teams when need be.
Control the stock of all waybills
Prepare the budget for the freight product of the station along with the product manager
Train the customer management teams and operations members on the freight product
Supervise the freight monthly production report.
General Responsibilities:
Monitors the performance of all operations supervisors to ensure that all standards and procedures are being met.
Ensures proper implementation of all Aramex operational procedures and quality of service standards.
Ensures the proper implementation of corrective and preventive action plans in operations.
Evaluates the performance of team members, identifies their training needs and trains them.
Follows up on operations supplies and handles the stock management.
Coordinates with the station manager/ customer management teams when submitting new offers and having an input in the revenue/cost part of each product.
Seeks new ways and develops new methods to work smarter and more efficiently.
Ensures proper flow of information across the station and across the network if needed.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor degree (Industrial Engineering is preferred)
Computer Proficiency: MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook).
Knowledge of IATA rules & regulations.
Knowledge of local customs regulations & procedures.
Knowledge of local commercial regulations
Knowledge of international transport rules and airlines regulations.
Strong knowledge of sea, Air and land freight
