Key Accountabilities:
Generic Accountability
Senior Engineer as part of the Core Delivery team aligned to a particular service
Ideally through experience you will enhance your skills across multiple specialisations
Job Context:
Specific Accountability
Storage and Backup Infrastructure Support – Enterprise Tehcnlogies EMC , IBM , NetApp ,Networker
Strong Experience in ECS , Isilon , Brocade Fabrics , Data Domain and Tape Library Administration
RecoverPoint , SRDF and Snapmirror setups and handle BCP , DR Drills
Performance Tuning , Problem-solving and Contribute with resourcefulness
Experience on SAN and NAS Storages storage provisioning, replication , data migrations and data protections
Administrative expertise in Backup Configurations, Restorations, Module Based Backups
Major incident/Sev1 Call handling and RCA Preparation
Adhere to Change Management Process.
Mentoring Team Members.
Industry Best Practices (Service Improvement Plan) Implementation
Identifying Documenting Risks/SPOFs and Vendor/OEM coordination
Active Participation & Involvement in Project Technical Discussions
Cloud Experience on (Azure & AWS)
Additonal work experience on VIPR , Appsync , Commvault , Netbackup , DPA Reporting is an advantage
Qualifications
5-10 Years of Experience in Storage and Backup Operations and Infrastructure Management
Deep expertise in leading Storage and Backup technology stacks and ability to quickly learn new technologies. Excellent knowledge of Enterprise Storage and Backup Products : EMC , IBM , NetApp
Ability to coach and guide the team of Engineers
Ability to identify requirements and create solutions for new implementations and architect designs that meets identified requirements
Ability to analyze the solution or processes (including, but not limited to Storage and Backup Operations Management) and offer ways to simplify it
Proficiency in troubleshooting software or infrastructure issues, and ideates for optimizing service offerings.
Improves team operation practices by incorporating best practices and by nurturing and mentoring talent
Successfully launches new features or re-architects old features. Begins to balance technology with business value
Hands-on experience in administration of Enterprise Arrays and Data Protection Solutions
Identifies and evaluates new technologies for implementation
Strong analytical and reasoning skills with an ability to visualize processes and outcomes
Experience in system performance monitoring and tuning
Hands-on experience and administrative expertise on Storage provisioning, DR Replication setups, RecoverPoint, SRDF, Brocade switches, Data Migration Techniques, EMC Networker, Data Domain, Tape Libraries, Administrative expertise on Backup Configurations, Restorations, Networker Module Based Backups: NMDA, NMM, NVP and Data Domain Administration
Identifies and fixes the security vulnerabilities
Integrates software or existing solutions with existing systems
Practical knowledge of Cloud Technologies and Deep Understanding of Infrastructure Towers (Systems and Platforms, Security, Networks and ITIL framework)
Ability to conduct technological POCs, test plans and quality assurance procedures
Recommends changes in policies and procedures and drives automation improvements Identifies and fixes the security vulnerabilities Provide 24*7 support for production systems
Oracle TDE Implementation & network level encryption using Oracle utilities
Respond to database related outages within the SLA timelines and provide detailed RCA
Implement changes/deployments to the production environment as per the change management guidelines.
Ability to work independently on all complex projects and to collaborate with various infrastructure groups (Server, Network, Database etc)
Setup and maintain documentation and standards
Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)
Experience in ITIL Processes
