Gras Savoye Gulf (GSG) activities in Abu Dhabi are carried out through a Joint Venture partnership with one of the leading families in the Emirate. We have started our operations in 2009 and GSG is today one of Abu Dhabi’s leading brokers with around 30 employees and more than $7 M revenue ( www.grassavoye.ae). We work in the UAE with major local and international insurance companies, but we also access global capacity through our network. GSG completes the important network of WTW in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region. We offer our clients in the UAE Gras Savoye unique knowledge and experience in the insurance industry as well as an access to our network in the region, in Europe and in Africa.
The General Manager is responsible for supporting and driving the overall strategy, revenue growth and profitability (P&L) within GSG. The role aims to achieve growth, value proposition, profitability and meet talent and client experience goals. The candidate will ensure that GSG conducts itself in a manner that recognizes principles of fair treatment of clients and takes account of the desired consumer outcomes set out by local regulators.
You will have the following responsibilities in this role:
Drive GSG’s growth and profitability by actively managing the P&L (revenue growth, direct cost management etc.).
Foster a trusted advisor relationship with key clients representing 70%+ of the GSG’s revenue. Act as Advocate Partner and/or directly handle select clients as appropriate.
Drive innovation & excellent client experiences by connecting GSG and WTW network.
In conjunction with Broking, maintain key senior underwriting relationships with top insurers to bolster market leverage in the best interests of our clients.
Develop & implement organic growth plans.
Drive retention by analyzing clients in jeopardy on a regular basis to maintain retention goals & develop action plans.
Diligence to deliver on Operating Income goals.
Efficiently manage talent investment – compensation plan adherence addresses under-performing investment hires.
Ensure GSG’s value proposition is clearly understood by clients and colleagues.
Engage colleagues on a regular basis & set talent development process for personal/team skill development & growth-centric culture. Foster a culture of inclusion & diversity & commitment to the company values.
The requirements
Experience and proven track record selling insurance broking and risk management advisory services to complex global organizations in the different areas of risk management.
Experience in a leadership role with P&L responsibility.
Ability to build, maintain and manage multiple client relationships at the most senior levels.
Ability to influence key stakeholders via formal and informal channels.
High level of business acumen.
Ability to navigate complex procurement organizations.
Ability to diagnose complex client issues and blend them into practical solutions that meet clients’ needs.
Ability to successfully direct multiple projects and ensure quality deliverables on time and within budget.
An executive presence with polished and well developed oral and written communication skills in English. Arabic would be advantageous.
Availability to travel on an as needed basis.
