Clariant's Group Finance supports each of the company's businesses in createing value in alignment with Clariant's overall strategic goals. We achieve this in two ways. Firstly, we support our businesses' drive for profitability by providing them with proactive, consistent and timely help and analysis in terms of business trends, margins, costs and capital employed. Secondly, we use funds acquired from capital markets to maintain a cost and tax-optimized cash allocation to fund the Group's activities.
We are now looking for a Chief Accountant to join the organization in our hub in Dubai.
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for monthly and quarterly closing processes, preparation of journal entries and corporate data requests in accordance with IFRS for all Clariant entities across the Middle East
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and year end reporting
- Engage and influence cross functional teams on process improvement, compliance, or other projects
- Work closely with tax and transfer pricing teams to ensure recharges across the international and domestic business are efficient and compliant
- Work closely with shared service center for bank reconciliation and payment transactions
- Completing statutory audit work for all regional entities and internal audit requirements, ensuring deadlines are met and key issues escalated to the relevant stakeholder.
- Reviewing and posting of vendor invoices as well as travel expenses
- Act as primariy contact person for Shared Service Centers within the Clariant group.
Requirements
- You will hold at least Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
- You will bring a minimum of 10 years experience in finance and accounting ideally with tax, transfer pricing and VAT.
- Possess strong accounting skills and deep experience of IFRS;
- Have experience of providing technical accounting advice to a variety of stakeholders
- Good stakeholder management skills and experience with a high credibility; the ability to communicate and influence individuals at all levels and to the most senior levels of finance within Clariant and our external auditors;
- Be resilient and flexible, with the ability to cope with a changein a fast-paced environment
- Have the ability to work well as part of a team, and be able to build effective relationships across the business
- Be able to deliver to tight deadlines and manage a diverse workload
- Have drive for self-development and growth
- Stong IT skills specifically in Excel, and SAP or other advanced ERP with experience of Power BI benefitial
