IoT Presales Engineer – SATCOM
Holt Executive are currently partnered with a Global Satellite Connectivity Organisation, a market leader in providing voice and high-speed data communications to a number of critical industries. With massive recent investment in their latest network infrastructure, they are at the forefront of space and satellite innovation.
They require an IoT Presales Engineer – SATCOM to apply commercial and engineering knowledge of remote connectivity opportunities to exciting industry opportunities, focusing on the Industrial IoT strategy. This role is ideally suited to an experienced presales engineer with a proven record of accomplishment in capturing customer requirements around IoT device edge management and automation, to bring result driven business outcomes via the world of sensors and remote connectivity.
Key Responsibilities for the IoT Presales Engineer – SATCOM:
Supporting new business sales with technical expertise when engaging business development opportunities.
Building and maintaining professional relationships with Partners, Customers, System Integrators and capability vendors.
Delivering advice and guidance on industry change and standards to engineering, sales and market development teams.
Comfortable in delivering presentations and hosting engineering workshops to new solutions providers to highlight value in partnership.
Support the solutions architects in information gathering, technical assessment and qualification for partnering and integration of new technologies.
Testing, staging and deploying solutions on customer’s site locations and providing training and orientation to the customer on the solution application.
Domestic and international travel to customer offices, project sites, training classes, and other destinations will be required.
Essential Knowledge and Skills required by the IoT Presales Engineer – SATCOM:
Degree in IT or Electrical/Electronic Engineering or similar experience considered
Minimum 5 years of experience in a presales or sales engineering function gained within the IT and/or Telecoms industry
Strong analytical, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
Knowledge of IP-based networks, handling of IP traffic, and IP behaviour.
Expert understanding of IoT solution protocols and design.
Proven track record of providing edge management solution design and implementation.
Experienced in working with automotive communication protocols (CAN(J1939)/LIN/RS232/485) as well as Modbus/ModbusTCP/IP, MQTT, etc.
Working knowledge of IoT radio technologies such as LoRa and LoRaWAN, cellular, BLE, Zigbee & Sigfox.
Experience of working proactively with both internal and external customers. Handling effective meeting, conferences, and telephone calls to improve the level of engagement with both groups.
Well-developed computer skills in MS Office/Professional suites including Excel, Project and Visio
