Objective:
To provide technical support for all
mechanical systems on Qatalum Power Plant.
Job Description:
Develop, implement and manage the Inspection
Regimes for pressure and Natural Gas supply.
Develop, implement and review Mechanical
Asset Management Strategies for all Mechanical System areas of the plant.
Develop, implement and review of operating
procedures and mechanical PMs.
Ensure mechanical technical support to Power
Plant Operations and Maintenance groups.
Develop and execute mechanical system
improvement projects.
Execute engineering and risk reviews leading
to a continuous improvement process with identification, planning and
preparation of identified projects.
Oversee the investigation of technical
incidents in Power Plant as required, focusing on long term improvement of
plant refinement of preventive maintenance and operational procedures.
Coordinate with smelter’s Technical group
who will oversee engineering standards across the whole plant (reduction,
carbon and cast house areas).
Mentor the assigned graduate development
program national employee and prepare him for taking over the position within
the stipulated development period
Provide input and recommend the continuous
improvement of the company practices taking into account ‘international best
practice’, changes in international standards and changes in the business
environment which demand proactive action plans.
Comply with all agreed occupational health,
safety and environmental regulations in order to protect personnel and physical
assets. Ensure that the work areas are kept in a clean and tidy state in order
that work can be carried out safely and effectively.
Generate or assist in generation of any departmental
reports are prepared as per management request, in a timely and accurate manner
to meet company and department requirements governing reporting.
Follow of all relevant operational
procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and
consistent manner.

This position will only be
offered on a definite contract (fixed term contract for 2 or 3 years)
Minimum Qualifications Required
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis
Minimum Experience Required
6-8 years experience in combined cycle power
plant operational or commissioning
1-2 years Management / Supervisory
experience
Combined cycle mobilization experience
desirable
International experience would be an
advantage
Mechanical condition base monitoring
experience is a highly desirable

Computer literacy
Fluency in English
