Job Summary
- Day to day processing of List Management (LM), Production Orders (PO), Transaction Monitoring (TM), Transaction Screening (TS) and Name Screening (NS) cases in line with laid down procedures and in a timely manner within agreed Turn Around Time (TAT) whilst maintaining Quality Control/Quality Assurance results in line with Group and local expectations.
Strategy
- To support in implementing AML strategies to ensure regulator, compliance and mitigate financial crime risks. Utilize a risk based approach, technology and data analytics to enhanced detection. Collaborate with internal teams, stay updated on emerging threats and support training initiatives to strengthen compliance.
Business
- Support the implementation of the Financial Crime surveillance Operation (FCSO) strategy by escalating appropriate Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) and Anti Money Laundering (AML) surveillance issues and executing activities in line with guidance documents, Group requirements and regulatory expectations.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of bank products across all segments (i.e. retail, commercial, private, correspondent banking and trade) and the ability to execute end-to-end investigations across all segments.
- Keep track of and provide advice to relevant stakeholders on the interpretation and application of regulatory expectations, laws, best practices and policies related to Financial Crime Compliance (FCC).
Processes
- Day to day processing of List Management (LM), Production Orders (RO), Transaction Monitoring (TM), Transaction Screening (TS) and Name Screening (NS) cases in line with laid down procedures and in a timely manner within agreed Turn Around Time (TAT’s) whilst maintaining Quality Control/Quality Assurance results in line with Group and local expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely initiation of any follow up actions to effectively process cases in List Management (LM), Transaction Monitoring (TM), Transaction Screening (TS), Production Order (PO) and Name Screening (NS) with clear narratives.
- Assist the Country Head Financial Crime surveillance Operation (FCSO) to implement investigation and surveillance standards set by regulators and the Group Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) function (via processes defined by Group Financial Crime surveillance Operation (FCSO), Group Production Orders (GPO’s), and Country Financial Crime Compliance (FCC).
- Reporting Internal SAR’s for cases escalated through Financial Crime surveillance Operation (FCSO) screening or transaction monitoring processes to Country Financial Crime Compliance (FCC).
- Ensure names are added to the watch lists on a timely basis.
- Share high profile cases with Regional Cluster Head of Financial Crime surveillance Operation (FCSO) to develop typologies and other materials to improve controls.
Skills and Experience
Risk Management
- Understand technical aspects of systems relevant to List Management, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Client Risk Assessments, Name and Transaction Screening, Anti Money Laundering (AML) Monitoring and Case Management.
- Map risks, quantify the potential impact and escalate where necessary.
- Provide intelligence (to internal forums) on specific clients, client-types and emerging risk typologies.
- Ensure the suitability and quality of case data maintained on enterprise case management systems.
- Partner with legal counsels for advice on technical matters.
Governance
- Propose control improvements, enhancements and simplifications where appropriate.
- Support all control checks undertaken by Financial Crime surveillance Operation (FCSO) under the Operational Risk Framework (ORF).
- Analyze and interpret data to produce reports that help the bank identify and manage emerging areas of risk / vulnerability and support in remediation actions within the Financial Crime surveillance Operation (FCSO) function.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.
Qualifications
- Collaborate within the Financial Crime surveillance Operation (FCSO) team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Operation of Financial Markets; Financial Crime Prevention; The Right Environment
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

- Direct manager and countersigning manager
- Head of Financial Crime surveillance Operation (FCSO)
Other Responsibilities
- Providing guidance and training to relevant value chain stakeholders (e.g. Country Financial Crime surveillance Operation (FCSO), New Joiners) when and as needed as directed by Country Head Financial Crime surveillance Operation (FCSO).
- Provide back up support to Country Financial Crime surveillance Operation (FCSO) team colleagues as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (Masters added advantage)
- Certifications – Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS)
- Language - English
