Position Overview:

 

Logistics Specialist will form an integral part of the Supply Chain function to achieve the operational objectives. This role will be responsible for materials, goods and products (including importing and exporting), overseeing the transportation of goods to and from the plant and implementation of best practice for logistics vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

•    Planning, managing and evaluating logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers

•    Delivering solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements

•    Monitoring quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs

•    Negotiating rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers, and recommending optimal transport modes and routes

•    Selecting carriers/suppliers and monitoring service against performance criteria

•    Resolving problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues

•    Identifying savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics process

•    Ensuring compliance with import/export regulations, customs regulations and legal and health and safety requirements

 

Experience and skills required:

 

•    Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain, or relevant field

•    Job related experience for minimum 3 years of working in logistics/supply chain/transportation function within manufacturing environment

•    Work collaboratively across departments as well with key stakeholders

•    Expert knowledge of technical regulations related to logistics such as import/export and customs regulations

•    Good management and analytical skills

•    Knowledge of MS Office and SAP 

•    Advanced knowledge of English language
