Overview of the role
We are currently looking for Operations Manager – Sea Freight Automotive. In this role, you will manage the sea freight business and assigned key accounts of Automotive Sea Freight portfolio in an efficient manner.  Handle additional tasks such as freight management of special movements, Cross Trade, and ensure smooth running of the Sea Freight operation. Handling both Internal and external customers.

 

What you will do

    To manage an assigned team within Sea Freight Automotive & Special logistics business
    Handle end to end scope of assigned key accounts including managing day to day movements & scheduled movements
    Responsible for service deliverance & KPI’s of key accounts
    Effective coordination with origin agents’ offices & ensure timely collections & lifting to attain efficient lead times & liaise for cost effective solutions
    Liaise with Carriers for cost effective solutions
    Handle the customer rate requests and drive the results
    Effectively manage the Sea Freight operation teams and system reporting, Job management, logs & milestones and job closures
    Timely & errorless billing/cost booking of the jobs in the system
    Maintain and submit the trackers to assigned key accounts on the agreed interval

 
Required skills to be successful

    Bachelor Degree / Post Graduate
    At least 6-8 years in Logistics industry
    Should be well versed with Free Zone regulations, customs processes and Incoterms
    Must have experience in special projects movements

 

About the team

The role will report to the Business Sector Manager – Sea Freight.
 
What equips you for the role

    Report to duty on a timely basis.
    Should have the ability to handle sizeable team.
    To be able to handle large scale bids & RFQ’s (Request for Quotation) of new & existing customers.
    Should be well-versed with the Freight Management, Carrier or agent negotiations to attain the customer retention and healthy hit ratio.
    Understanding to ATA Carnet processes, Exhibition Shipment clearances
    Should be able work under pressure & must be flexible in working hours

Job Description

The Project Manager manages key clients’ projects. The role of the project manager is key to the success of the project. Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project.

 

Main KPIs:

- On-time and within budget and quality of delivery

- Client Satisfaction

- Revenue, margins and DSO of project

    Communicate with Head of PM and presales team to understand the project being evaluated to ensure that the successful bid will be managed successfully.
    Work with the contracts team to review the client contract before signing in order to ensure implementation risks are mitigated.
    Work with technical managers to ensure that the proper skills are available and ready for mobility before project kick-off.
    Manage the handover process from the bidding team to the operations team to ensure the proper kick-off of the project.
    Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
    Prepare the detailed project time plan with detailed time schedule in coordination with all stakeholders including the PM of the client.
    Ensure that all risks are identified, and applicable action plan(s) is acknowledged by all and ready if applicable.
    Ensure that the project’s overall objectives, targets at various key stages, and individuals’ responsibilities are clearly communicated and understood by all concerned parties.
    Monitor the progress of the project and manage the day-to-day activities within the project to ensure successful delivery.
    Represent Giza Systems in all meetings and communications with client representatives.
    Ensure continuous and periodical communication between all stakeholders of the project to ensure that the delivery is on-time, within scope and within budget.
    Manage proactively all challenges and issues that might be raised in the middle of the project to ensure the satisfaction of the client.
    Coordinate with procurement, purchasing and logistics all material ordering and delivery considering all logistics aspects mentioned in the contract.
    Review and undertake quality assurance on all client deliverables prepared by the team before they are sent to the client, ensuring that they meet the required standards and specifications.
    Follow-up on stage approvals with the client and compile acceptance sheets for each module, as well as final acceptance sheets for the whole project.
    Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
    Monitor the invoicing on a project and notify the Finance of all the necessary interim invoices to be issued to the client.
    Support and ensure the collection of revenue with client.
    Follow and ensure adherence of internal policies, procedures & financial systems
    Highlight areas of slippage and identify/initiate corrective action.
    Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
    Report and escalate to management as needed.
    Track project performance to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
    Ensure project revenue/cash status are matching planned for both In/Out.
    Manage the relationship with the client and ensure proper communication is maintained.
    Update the Account Manager on a regular basis, on the progress and development of the Project.
    Review with the Head of PM and the Region Operations Manager the progress of the project and coordinate client maintenance activities if needed
    Manage the relation with the suppliers and key subcontractors to ensure that the required deliverables are as expected.
    Review the time plan of subcontractors and intervene whenever needed to ensure proper coordination of deliverables.
    Ensure that all internal stakeholders are aware of their important role in the project with key highlights of deliverables.
    Allocate resources on the project, assign work to the team, and monitor the progress of the team, ensuring that all project milestones are achieved in a timely manner.
    Manage the staff chargeability and all other project costs and expenses to ensure that they are within the budget and prepare and submit Project Profit/ Loss Status Reports to the Program Manager.
    Assesses the training needs of the team within projects.
    Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
    Manage customer correspondences and accountable for all project important documents.
    Accountable for documenting progress of the project and keep track of the progress against planned/required.
    Manage the transfer of knowledge of the technical deliverables to the client – if applicable.
    Prepare and submit monthly project progress reports to the PMO, Program Manager and the relevant manager.
    Develop a lessons learnt log to maintain customer/industry/technology knowledge.

Technical Skills

• 7-10 years of experience in a project management position in a relevant field.

• Proven working experience in project management


• Project Management Professional (PMP) or another PM certification is a must.


• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.


• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office & MS Project.

Education

• Bachelor degree, preferably in Engineering with a Specialization in Communication or Computer.

About the Role

The Uber for Business Team is looking for a sharp and highly motivated individual to join our team! We need creative thinkers and builders with previous sales experience who are passionate about commercial businesses. You’ll be on the frontlines introducing Uber to organizations while developing and executing strategies around sales.

As a Senior Account Manager, you will collaborate with a cross functional team of Account Executives, Implementation Leads, Premium Support Specialists, Product Managers and others to drive customer retention and growth through operational and commercial excellence.

Account Managers manage the post-sale experience and long-term partnerships of our Top-Tier customers in the region. Account Managers oversee the day-to-day relationship of strategic accounts within their book of business and are responsible for retention as well uncovering the wallet to drive growth and increase revenue through expanding into new locations, use cases and products.

What You'll Do

    Construct, forecast and manage sales pipeline via Salesforce CRM
    Achieve all assigned account management quotas for the measurement cycle
    Identify customer needs, understand the business drivers behind requests, and leverage the Uber for Business value proposition to achieve mutual goals.
    Retain and grow your book of business through monthly/quarterly business reviews, account expansion plans, upselling and cross-selling, and building strong consultative relationships while exceeding a quota
    Drive meetings with a C-Suite level audience to align on partnership goals and get buy-in for account expansion initiatives
    Be able to execute in short-term sprints while maintaining a vision for long-term sustained success

    Wear multiple hats: sales strategy, lead generation, sales rep, and account manager and be an advocate for Uber for Business strategy and growth in the region
    Be the champion for customer advocacy, testimonials and data trends that can help build the business forward

What You'll Need

    Minimum 7 years of B2B / B2B2C sales experience in a client facing function
    Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
    Analytical skills and ability to extract trends and insights from customers data
    Executive Presence and ability to engage with multiple stakeholders

Bonus Points If

    Good with articulation, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to identify and provide comprehensive solutions for varying customer needs
    Ability to use insights and data-driven decision making to inform the sales process
    Developing sales strategies and market pitch to respond to a dynamic market landscape
    Experience in KSA with Government organizations
    Manage multiple stakeholders with potentially contrasting expectations and timelines
    Organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize across your book of business to deliver on goals and targets
    Effective problem solving skills to resolve customer challenges associated with behavior change, technology adoption and growth
    Love collaborating in a team setup and innovate on existing process and ways of working to increase business impact
