Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in data management to lead and deliver complex data projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent stakeholder management skills, and a deep understanding of the data lifecycle. This role requires working across cross-functional teams, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining high standards of data quality, governance, and compliance. Having experience working in banking or financial services is a big plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of data management projects, including data quality, data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and master data management (MDM).
• Engage with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, define scope, and translate them into actionable project plans.
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, and manage execution against these plans.
• Oversee project resources, vendors, and delivery teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies proactively.
• Prepare and present status reports, dashboards, and updates to executive stakeholders.
• Collaborate with data architects, data engineers, data stewards, and other specialists to drive delivery.
• Champion best practices in Agile or Hybrid delivery models suited to data projects.
• Support change management and adoption across business users.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field; PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in project management, with at least 2 years managing data management projects.
• Demonstrated experience delivering projects involving:
  • Data governance frameworks
  • Metadata and lineage management
  • Data quality initiatives
  • Master data and reference data solutions
  • Data warehouse or lake implementations
• Proficient in using project management tools like MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities with ability to drive multi-disciplinary teams.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

• Prior experience in banking or financial services is highly preferred.
• Understanding of data regulations in the banking sector (e.g., GDPR, local regulatory bodies).
• Experience working with data platforms such as Informatica, Collibra, Talend, or Snowflake.
• Familiarity with data strategy and enterprise data architecture.
• Exposure to cloud-based data solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of BI/reporting tools and data visualization platforms.
