RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Prepare, monitor and reporting of support function budgets.

Hold quarterly meetings with functional leads to discuss their respective budgets.

Provide routine monthly / quarterly reports to management.

Prepare utilization reports of overheads vs project-charge employee headcount.

Annual preparation of standard rates.

Manage and reporting of Capex budgets

Manage and update Delegation of Authority matrix for Business Line.

Decision support to functional / operational management.

Implement & track cost reduction initiatives.

Any ad-hoc exercise / reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Qualifications and Education:

Accountancy degree – CA / CPA / CIMA / ACCA or equivalent

At least 3-5 years’ experience

Big 4 experience preferred but not mandatory

Experience related to SOX and it’s implementation will be preferred

Ability to multi-task and manage tight reporting schedules

Ability to work under minimum supervision

Good commercial acumen

We are currently seeking an experienced finance professional to join our Finance Shared Service Center in the capacity of Accountant – R2R.

 

Overview of the role

As a member of FSSC R2R team – To support monthly and yearly preparation of journal entries and reconciliation of GL accounts.

 

What you will do

General ledger reconciliations & schedule review

Reconciliation of GL accounts, preparing GL schedules with actionable insights.

Post transactions in SAP/BPC and maintain necessary documentation to support such transactions.

Prepare necessary analysis and reports related to General ledger balances and provide highlights indicating risks and recommend mitigation action.

Standardize accounting schedules and implement quality review process.

Prepare & circulate monthly intercompany loan reconciliation

Strive to continually improve GL review process for early warning signals.

Gather necessary information related to balance sheet accounts from concerned stakeholders to ensure proper reconciliation of GL accounts.

Prepare and submit audit schedules, data, documentations to ensure prompt closure of audit.

Monthly / Yearly books closing and business support

Ensure timely inputs for preparation of financials and take ownership for compliance

Follow checklists for monthly book closure and audit closure.

Ensure necessary amortization and provision entries are posted and issues highlighted.

Perform necessary reclassifications and validations in BPC process.

Provide support in circulating weekly stock forecast

Record month end stock provision entries after comprehensive review and confirmation by business.

Intercompany and Intracompany

Review ICM module to ensure ICM team has accepted the regular charges (Warehouse rent, D&W, Warranty, Security charges. MDE charges, EIT, Visa, Emiratization & Training Levy)

Highlight issues around elimination of transactions and provide inputs to fix process issues and to avoid recurrence

 

Required skills to be successful

Good accounting (IFRS) knowledge preferred

Analytical, process oriented

Well organized, with excellent communication skills, a team player

Should possess a good knowledge of excel and have prior experience in working with large databases

Presentation skills, exposure to ERP

(Preferably SAP) and SAP BW/ BPC

 

What equips you for the role

Graduate/Fresh ACCA/CMA (or similar qualification)

Fresher with necessary qualification and aptitude or minimum 2 years of similar experience, with good accounting knowledge and ERP systems.

Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Description

Milliman’s Dubai Practice is looking to appoint an experienced consulting actuary, specialized in health-related work, to lead Milliman’s health projects across the Middle East. As a part of our team, you will support the development and delivery of a diverse range of consulting activities across multiple countries in the Middle East including pricing and reserving, development and review of mandatory benefit packages, and implementation of value-based reimbursement mechanisms, including DRGs.

Department

Actuarial – Health

Background:

Milliman is one of the world’s leading consulting firms providing actuarial consulting related to retirement funding and healthcare financing, enterprise risk management and regulatory compliance, data analytics, and business transformation, as well as a range of other consulting and technology solutions. Milliman currently provides actuarial and consulting services to insurers, government entities and other stakeholders across the GCC countries.

Key responsibilities

Line manager for the healthcare actuarial team based in both Dubai and Riyadh offices

Providing guidance to actuarial team to prepare appropriate analysis and modelling

Review and refinement of analysis and reports produced by the actuarial team for both private health insurers and government entities

Prepare and present results and recommendations to clients for consideration

Coordinating input from global consultants to develop responses to relevant RFPs

Project management, including preparing detailed project plans, monitoring progress, and managing project budgets

Liaising with key client contacts to obtain required data and information and provide project status updates

Ensure adherence to Milliman’s policies and processes throughout all activities

Educational requirements

An undergraduate degree pursuing actuarial science, mathematics, or another major with quantitative course work

Must be a qualified actuary registered as a Fellow of a recognized global actuarial body

Outstanding academic record

Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint etc.)

Experience and skill requirements

Minimum of 10 years of actuarial experience, of which at least 5 years should be post-qualification experience, with a substantial part of the experience in health-related work

Superior math aptitude and strong analytical ability

Experience with reserving and pricing techniques for health insurance products

Experience with a wide range of actuarial concepts specific to health systems, such as utilisation, clinical coding systems, Diagnosis-Related Groupers, bundled payments, population health management, value-based healthcare, etc

Ability to translate complex actuarial concepts into simpler ideas for a non-actuarial audience

Significant client facing experience, including experience with presenting technical content to senior stakeholders

Project management experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong attention to detail

Good organizational skills

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Ability to work under pressure

Must be willing to travel regularly throughout the region
