Job Description

Over-The-Air (OTA) and Infotainment Field Validation and Testing

This position will be responsible for coordinating with Vehicle Homeroom Engineering Teams to perform over the air update testing and verification of successful updates and module programming as well as perform infotainment validation testing as required. The selected candidate will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for validation of telematics and infotainment on the vehicle. The selected candidate will also be responsible for identifying and accruing the necessary vehicles from MEO and/or dealer inventory, developing the test plan, capturing the necessary data before and after OTA updates and then coordinating and resolving issues prior software release and/or vehicle launch.

Radio System and Other Subsystem Test and Validation (Bench Testing)

This position will be responsible for coordinating with Engineering Teams to perform component level validation focusing on over the air updates. They will also be responsible for maintaining and updating electrical benches used to perform module specific testing. Work may include wiring changes, module reprogramming and capturing and reporting test logs/vehicle data. The candidate will also be responsible for validating the localization content for Middle East (Ex: Validating Arabic language content.)

OnStar Module Update Support

This position will work closely with the Middle East OnStar team to support the Connected operations team in programming vehicles and data collection for issue resolution.

GM Vehicle Programming Updates and Support

This position will work closely with the Middle East Quality, Marketing and PR teams to update vehicles to the latest and greatest software levels and to provide on vehicle support as needed.

This role is highly technical and requires deep understanding of modern vehicle architecture systems. The person in this role will work multi-functionally and globally to collaborate with Business, IT development and operations, engineering, quality and aftersales teams to ensure the flawless launch of connected vehicle programs.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Develop & Execute test plans and procedures that comprehend OTA and infotainment requirements and functionalities
  • Execute validation procedures for the feature on both bench and vehicle properties
  • Ability to capture vehicle data
  • Develop project management test plans and scheduling
  • Analyse performance to identify any issues/risks - Triage system level nonconformities to the appropriate offending module or back-office system
  • Follow issue resolution from issue origination through verification, closure, and monitoring
  • Develop and implement new test methods to improve quality/efficiency (automation, etc)
  • Document all anomalies using existing documentation tools (PRTS/SW PRTS/TFS)
  • Provide regular status updates on current performance and performance enhancement activities
  • Update related process flows, performance and other documents to reflect the changes and communicate them with all the collaborators
  • Identify vital process improvement ideas by working with other business partners such as global stakeholders and SMEs
  • Fully understand interactions with GMNA OTA and Infotainment validation teams
  • Participate/Lead design/process related technical discussions with development teams and/or other collaborators
  • Work with multi-functional teams to acquire test vehicles
  • Work with engineering to maintain and update test benches with new modules, wiring and components
  • Participate in validation global forum to understand up coming work and activities
  • Validation of campaigns and information in Arabic to complete in-region evaluation
  • Support DBT (Digital Business Team) regional release validation requirements, including but not limited to, OnStar mobile app features, blue button press, diagnostics, etc., as the need arises per release.
  • Verify carrier connectivity and onboarding

Additional Job Description

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in vehicle technical engineering or training
  • Experience in process definition (requirement), validation
  • Experience with environmental, diagnostics, and serial data testing
  • Understanding of automotive serial data protocols (CAN, MOST, Ethernet, etc)
  • Experience with automotive tools (Vehicle Spy, Canoe, Mocha, etc)
  • Demonstrates ability to build strong cross-organizational relationships to facilitate cooperation and coordination with teams
  • Experience working with technical teams during time-sensitive/issue resolution incident management
  • Strong demonstrable experience and understanding of vehicle architecture and design principles related to system validation and testing
  • Technical background or Level 2/3 support in problem-solving to identify, prioritize and communicate complicated technical issues
  • Knowledgeable and comfortable with new technologies and business models
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are complex and difficult
  • Experience with telematics related components and functionality
  • Experience with PC driven test equipment and systems
  • Basic knowledge of cellular systems
  • Exposure to Over the Air Reflash feature/validation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English & Arabic

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience with vehicle infotainment, telematics, or navigation systems
  • Knowledge of OnStar System and support systems.
  • Direct experience at OnStar in one or more of the following areas:
    • Requirements definition
    • Issue resolution
    • Product validation
    • Process definition
    • Service delivery
    • Vehicle programming

Education:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, or related degree or equivalent experience

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a PMC Senior Commissioning and Completions Engineer for ADNOC Offshore to be based offshore on 6 weeks on 3 weeks off rotation. This role is only up to December 2022.

 

Successful candidate will need to perform the following duties and responsibilities;

  • Review and approve Mechanical Commissioning procedures
  • Drive population of systems completion database
  • Monitor and track systems completion and punch closure
  • Coordinate commissioning activities and tie-in activities
  • Liaise with operation personnel to ensure that prerequisites are fulfilled before any systems / subsystem commissioned (vendor documents, FATs –SATs)
  • Approve / review tests procedures and method statements
  • Attend tool boxes
  • Review / Approve DPRs and relevant installed quantities
  • Supervise contractor performance in terms of progress, HSE and quality
  • Monitor contractors to adhere to site policies, regulations, HSE rules
  • Liaise interfaces internally (with other company disciplines) and externally (with operation personnel, vendors, third parties
  • Review / assess / approve site queries and authorize site modifications in coordination with PMT
  • Assist commissioning group and operations personnel assigned to the commissioning group at onshore and offshore locations; assist coordination and execution of the commissioning activities at onshore and offshore locations
  • Assist coordination liaison for all interfaces on site and with all integrity groups to ensure to ensure the project requirements and performance standards are achieved
  • Provide input for the most effective use of vendors and assistance during CMS population
  • Provide input to the development of the detailed plan and planning systems including reporting of progress; ensure that changes implemented during the commissioning activities are approved and documented
  • Provide review of TQ’s, EQ’s, and SI’s ensuring that they are included in the commissioning scope where applicable
  • Provide assistance and guidance in the preparation of requisitions, technical specifications for materials, equipment and consumable required to perform the commissioning scope of work

Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience mainly being in oil and gas offshore upstream industry
  • Bachelor degree in any Engineering discipline 
  • Must have practical hands-on field experience during all stages of project life construction, commissioning and start up, and be able to communicate with team leaders of a multi-discipline team
  • Be a team player who can provide valuable input during both planning and execution phase

Client Relationship Manager, Lloyds Register, Abu Dhabi, UAE

 Role purpose:

To manage a group of accounts to achieve the margin and market share growth of the M&O business, in line with the area Long Range Plan (LRP) 
To act as the main point of contact for the assigned group of accounts, focussing on the customer experience to enhance loyalty and build long-term relationships.
To deliver the assigned sales, revenue, margin and cash targets.

 

Key Responsibilities:
 

Business Planning

  • Territory Review: Support the account team manager to routinely review and identify the clients within the territory that represent the greatest opportunity relative to cost to serve.  
  • Account Segmentation: Support the account segmentation analysis with the account team manager, categorising the accounts within the area into Growth, Strategic, Streamline or Status accounts.
  • Client Awareness: Develop a thorough understanding of the assigned accounts clients’ business to articulate a clear ‘why LR’ value proposition that will resonate with the client and the challenges of their key stakeholders.
  • Competitor Awareness: Maintain a thorough understanding of LR’s main competitors in the area and share this understanding as necessary with the area, global and central commercial teams.
  • Account Planning: Develop and maintain account plans for the assigned accounts, that optimise the margin performance for the segment, area, and the global LR business across the areas and different business streams.  
  • Sales & Marketing Plan: Under the guidance of the account team manager, provide input and insight into the Sales and Marketing plan (SMP) with the actions necessary to deliver the area Long Range Plan (LRP).    
  • Sales Forecasting: Regularly analyse and report to the account team manager the expected sales performance within a period, based on sales pipeline, individual win rates, market trends, forecasts and competitor activity.

 

Account, Opportunity and Relationship Management 

  • Customer Centricity: Act as the main point of contact for the assigned accounts and work closely with the area client care team and key stakeholders to ensure the client relationship is managed effectively at all times.
  • Financial Delivery: Deliver financial and operational performance against agreed budget targets, in line with the expected area contribution to the Marine & Offshore financial plans.
  • Opportunity Management: Input and regularly update all opportunities in Salesforce, demonstrating model behaviours to promote the effective use of Salesforce.
  • Bid Leader: Ensure that for all large bids involving multiple internal stakeholders, a bid leader is agreed from the outset, with defined roles and responsibilities understood by the opportunity capture team.  
  • Sales Collaboration: Collaborate extensively and actively engage with the growth product specialists and account managers in different teams or areas to support opportunities and projects as required.
  • Stakeholder Mapping: Develop and regularly maintain a stakeholder engagement plan for each assigned account and establish clear metrics and accountability for all internal stakeholders linked to the account plan.
  • Executive Engagement: Organise frequent executive level engagement with specified clients and ensure strategic relationships are maintained between LR’s senior management and the clients’ senior management.
  • Data Quality: Take accountability for the accuracy and quality of the opportunity and account data input into Salesforce to ensure confidence in the performance reporting and sales forecasts.
  • Activity Reporting: Report on client meetings and all aspects of competitor activity for each client. Disseminate this information to relevant internal stakeholders and share updates during relevant sales team meetings.
  • Feedback Handling: Seek and review client feedback, facilitate resolution of complaints promptly, and disseminate lessons learned to service delivery and client care teams as appropriate, in line with GMS and SLAs.
  • Account Performance: Track account revenue, margin and sales performance and oversee contract management for assigned accounts, including securing contract renewals.
  • Debt Control: Manage debt recovery and work with the area accounts payable team to support as required, the collection of payments that are overdue (as applicable) for the assigned accounts.
  • Proposal Development: Ensure high quality proposals and competitive quotes are produced for the assigned accounts, to expand LR’s existing revenue, market share and relationship with the clients.  
  • Commercial Contracts: Apply commercial acumen in the review of commercial contracts, safeguarding and maximising LR’s position.  Liaise with relevant colleagues as required in the preparation/review stage.
  • Industry Presence: Support the Account Team Manager as required and actively participate in events, conferences, and workshops to network and promote LR.
  • Process Adherence: Ensure the ByD processes are followed as per the GMS. Ensure full adherence to the Commercial Bid Matrix and relevant implementation. .
  • Professional Integrity: Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation and accreditation schemes, and pursue Continuous Professional Development to maintain a high level of discipline knowledge and awareness.
     

Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd's Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science or qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship's officer.
  • Significant experience in Account management field, preferably in Marine & Offshore environment with an in depth understanding of sales and client care principles.
  • Strong commercial awareness. Ability to develop strategic action plans based on input from key persons.
  • Strong knowledge of financial, budgetary planning, business planning, reporting and management.
  • Strong team spirit. Excellent professional people skills to improve performance across the area of business.
  • Thorough understanding of the shipping market and marine environment to manage commercial focus and find new business opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at different levels within organisations and to influence successfully and openly at all levels – both inside our organisation and outside in the business.
  • Ability and understanding to participate, communicate, positively contribute and add value in marine & offshore supply chain and technical discussions with clients and LR colleagues alike.
  • Ability to understand and assess complex and sometimes unfamiliar situations, visualise solutions and see through to resolution.
  • Enjoyment of building relationships, with the ability to pro-actively drive development of a network of key relationships internally and externally.
