Network Planning Controller, Air Arabia, Sharjah, UAE

 

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to coordinate airport slots, develop and regularly review Flight schedules for Air Arabia, and facilitate charter flights and requests with a key objective of optimum aircraft usage on profitable routes.  He/she contributes to the long-term/short-term flight planning ensuring effectiveness in productivity in line with the set measures and company’s adopted policies and procedures.

Key Result Responsibilities

1. Acts as the main contact for IATA and Airport Authorities relating to coordination of slots, Civil Aviation regulations, IATA calendar, IATA policies and procedures as well as conferences.

2. Communicates with Airports Authorities and Civil Aviation to obtain traffic rights and approvals on slots for Air Arabia.  Negotiates changes and schedules with airports based on business need, commercial requirements and availability.

3. Designs/ modifies short-term flight schedules based on available and future delivery of aircrafts; loads schedules for sales on both planning and reservation systems ensuring optimum aircraft utilization (minimum average 14 block hours) per aircraft per day. 

4. Checks and verifies schedules to identify any inconsistency, mistakes or discrepancies in schedules prior to validation.  Refers to input from different sources such as Operations, Country Mangers, Cabin Services, Revenue Management, etc.

5. Obtains timely approvals from Airports and Civil Aviation Authorities on all scheduled and extra flights as per adopted procedures.  Manages schedule changes resulting from different causes such as operational requirements, commercial reasons, airport slots approvals, or weather conditions, etc.

6. Partners with Revenue Management on any cancellations, combining or addition of flights to ensure optimum utilization and profit; executes re-scheduling of flights and connecting flights, loads to system and communicates accordingly. 

7. Handles all communication related to scheduling and changes in certain emergencies or last minute updates. Co-ordinates and assists dispatch to manage flight schedule disruptions caused due to AOG or other unforeseen circumstances.

8. Prepares charter agreements and quotations, plans, loads and executes schedules to accommodate charter and irregular flights based on agreed plan, availability and airport approvals. Follows up on operations to ensure successful delivery.

9. Works closely with Engineering Planning / maintenance teams to finalize scheduling of aircrafts for maintenance ensuring smooth checks with minimal disruption.

10. Co- manages the maintenance schedules of the different types such as the A (1-10 days/regular check) and C (above 750 hours/major check), depending on flights schedules, and aircraft availability.

11. Manages the short-term fleet planning and distribution of aircrafts among the assigned hubs based on approved plan, agreements with civil aviation authorities, and airports’ approval in the corresponding hub/destination. Partners with Country Managers, Legal and Commercial Departments to execute the plans effectively ensuring maximum utilization of aircrafts.

12. Maintains an accurate and up-to-date database and documents control of all function-related contacts, agreements, schedules, documents, certificates, etc.

13. Establishes/ maintains communication with all free-schedule publishing mediums to ensure Air Arabia’s schedules are widely distributed and updated on regular basis. Coordinates with support teams, mainly Information Technology and ISA, on systems-related matters such as testing, integration, update, etc.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering (Industrial, Planning, Computer), Business Management, Commerce or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • IATA Certified in (Airport Slots and Scheduling) is a must.
  • Capable of using technology systems and tools; proficient in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel Skills), Internet and Web Search.
  • Fluent in English, Arabic is desirable.

Work Experience

- 4-5 years of related working experience in the aviation   industry with at least 2 years on supervisory or mid-senior level in network fleet and schedule planning; experience with low cost airline is a plus.

- Proven skills in analyzing data, identifying risks and pitfalls and recommending solutions.

- Capable of using logical thinking to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

- Capable of utilizing data to generate reports of different nature and purposes.

- Strong numerical ability and highly accurate

- Very Good Project Management Skills, capable of prioritizing responsibilities and acting in critical situations.

- Cost-oriented, possesses effective persuasive, negotiation, problem solving and decision making skills.

- Employs a balance of technical expertise, and interpersonal relations to support company’s objectives.

- Experienced in managing relationships at both senior/subordinate levels.

- Product knowledge: capability of understanding market trends and channeling them leading to effective customer care solutions.

 - Demonstrates the ability to contribute and successfully deliver against business strategy and set KPIs.

Codeshare & Alliance Support Executive, Air Arabia, Sharjah, UAE

 

Job Purpose

To provide support services for the implementation of the Airline’s Codeshare partnership agreements to maximize revenue & connectivity at hub and beyond. To ensure that all related activities are executed in a timely manner with maximum revenue retention and customer satisfaction.

Key Result Responsibilities

  • Be the main point of contact for all codeshare related matters for internal and external stakeholders ensuring timely execution of related tasks.
  • Provide Reservation and Ticketing support to relevant stakeholders for imminent and urgent matters arising at customer touch points. This includes handling irregular operations, booking failures etc. which impacts codeshare passengers.
  • Ensure all published codeshare flights & schedules are available in the relevant reservations systems, highlighting any inconsistencies.
  • Ensure that all agreed O&D/markets are available for sale on relevant sales channels for partner airlines.
  • Analyse daily error reports related to codeshare flow, using various internal data sources to identify and highlight the issues to the relevant stakeholders. Follow-up to ensure timely resolution of such issues.
  • Perform a daily check on departed flights to ensure that the e-ticket/coupon status is updated and highlight/follow-up on inconsistencies (if any) to the relevant stakeholder for corrective actions
  • Provide reports to monitor trends and pricing activity performance by providing constant feedback to Management.
  • Generate regular MIS codeshare report as per the required schedule.
  • Actively participate, support and coordinate organization’s set IT/commercial initiatives/projects in the field of Codeshare. This includes new airlines partnership implementation and/or enhancement of existing partnership terms, covering, integration, testing & communication with relevant stakeholders
  • Coordinate with Finance (Revenue Accounting) to ensure the monthly Codeshare settlement is processed in a smooth manner. Work collaboratively to protect potential revenue leakages. 
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

-    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is essential
-    Well versed Airline Reservation & Ticketing Systems, preferably GDS, Amadeus/Sabre
-    Knowledge of reservations and ticketing procedures.
-    Proficient in Microsoft Office, mainly MS Excel
-    Fluent in English language

Work Experience

-    4+ years of experience airline sales / reservations/ travel services handling similar role or related activities pertaining to Codeshare/ Alliance agreements
-    Effective communication & interpersonal skills.
-    Ability to work well within a team and to work under pressure.
-    Proven skills in analyzing data, identifying issues, and recommending effective solutions.
-    Possess effective persuasive, negotiation and problem-solving skills.

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Inspect guest rooms, public areas, pool, etc. after being cleaned by Housekeeper to ensure quality standards. Run sold room reports, verify room status, determine discrepant rooms, prioritize room cleaning, and update status of departing guest rooms. Assist Housekeeping management in managing daily activities. Act as a liaison to coordinate the efforts of Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry. Document and resolve issues with discrepant rooms with the Front Desk. Prepare, distribute, and communicate changes in room assignments. Communicate issues to next shift. Complete required paperwork.

Overview

Seeking a professional and experienced travel nanny for a Dubai-based family planning a trip to Switzerland and possibly France and the UK.  The position starts ASAP in Dubai to allow you to get to know the family and their routines, before heading to Switzerland on or around 11th February.  Expect to work 24/6 in Dubai, and then to be on duty 24/7 while travelling.  The role will finish back in Dubai at the end of February.

 

While in Dubai duties will include getting the children up and ready for school.  You will drop the two older children (7 and 5-years-old) off at school, spend the day with the younger 2-year-old before picking the older two up from school again and bringing them home.  After school activities might include helping the children with their homework, tutoring them in some subjects and organising fun, engaging, and educational activities.  You will also be expected to help with managing the children's schedules, belongings, and with travel preparations.  During the trip, the candidate will support the children in developing their independence and good judgement, will research, organise and accompany them on outings and to classes and will strive to continue their learning and to ignite their curiosity in the new surroundings.

 

The ideal candidate is warm, very educationally focused and demonstrates plenty of initiative. Please also be pro-active, creative, committed and have a real muck-in attitude.  The role will be busy, you need to be passionate about children and excited about the opportunity to encourage their curiosity and wonder in the world around them.  Excellent English is essential, fluency in French and being a confident skiier would definitely be a bonus!  You will have your own bedroom and bathroom in Dubai, but will share with the children while travelling.
