Job Description:

QA/QC Inspector

Job Location: Qatar

Responsibilities:

• Checks and reviews the plans and specifications for the proper construction and quality implementation at job site, perform pre-inspection to ensure that all installed materials are within the standard in conformance to applicable drawings and specs

• Performs civil and structural inspections and tests, such as soil compaction, moisture content, aggregation, graduation, concrete slump, air entrainment, concrete compression, lines and grades surveys, bolt torques, and concrete coring.

• Interprets design plans and specifications to verify the work installed and performed in accordance with the contract documents

• Produces activity reports as necessary to ensure that all QC activities have been fulfilled.

• Performs surveillance of underground piping to ensure tightness, bedding, and grade.

• Inspects and monitors piling installation to ensure location and bearing.

• Validates piping systems, including P&ID checks and hydraulic or other pressure tests.  

• Provides general inspection on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship.  

• Participates in the development of quality control reports and procedures as requested by the Construction QA/QC Manager

• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements:

A. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and/ or Diploma in Engineering from a recognized institute

B. Experience

• Minimum 10 years of demonstrable experience of supervision of civil construction projects of which not less than 5 years shall be in works related to similar surface & ground water networks projects.

• Experience should also include construction involving deep excavations, structural and water retaining concrete, temporary works, dewatering, pavement/ roadworks, utilities diversion/ interface etc.

• Particular emphasis on Micro tunneling works, procedures, machinery setup, monitoring micro tunnel site activities

C. General

• Must have good command of English both written and spoken;

• Computer skills are mandatory.
