Senior Estimator, Saudi Arabia

Role Summary

The Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates and bids for projects, ensuring competitiveness and profitability. This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop comprehensive cost assessments, identify risks, and coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors. A Senior Estimator plays a key role in strategic decision-making, guiding junior estimators, and contributing to the overall success of the pre-construction phase.

In the first instance and in view of this being a new area of operations, he/she must be able to identify suitable and relevant suppliers, and subcontractors prevalent in the marketplace.

Role Description

Detailed study of tender documents, ITT and RFP, preparing the tender return documents both commercial and technical

In depth study of tender drawings, Take off, measurement and production of BOQ for in accordance with international standards

Prepare Accurate RFIs (request for information) for the tender and submission of RFI''s on/before RFI cut off deadline

Sending inquiries and receiving quotations from multiple suppliers and subcontractors

Efficiently Negotiating the price with suppliers and sub-contractors to submit a competitive price to the Client

Preparing an accurate sub-contractor’s price comparison and detailed cost breakdown for each trade by calculating manpower, material, plant, and equipment

Preparation of detailed tender clarifications, qualifications and exclusions before submitting bid to the Client

Ensuring timely tender preparation ready for Estimation manager review and documents for submission to the Client

Conduct timely and efficient hand-over meetings with post Contract (QS) and the project teams and coordinating, clarifying the basis of our prices

Providing supporting quotations obtained from the suppliers and subcontractors, quantity take-off calculations from the drawings to QS

Prepare technical and commercial proposal in coordination with estimation coordinator and to ensure the timely submission of the bid

Preparing Allowance bill and opening job number in Epicor by uploading all cost breakdown

Identify and expand sufficient Vendor base for achieving comparative pricing and recommended strike ratio

Internal coordination with various departments to obtain the required information to complete the bid submission

Candidate Requirements

Experience related to commercial offices and entertainment projects

More than 8-10 years of experience in the fit-out industry with in KSA preferred

B. Tech, B.E in Civil or Graduation in Quantity Surveyor

Knowledge of the full tender process and experience of value engineering

Experience in analyzing trade comparisons

IT-literate – Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc

Ability to work individually and as part of a team

Ability to manage your own time in order to hit deadlines

Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally in ‘business English’, both in writing and orally
