Senior Consultant Civil Engineer (High Rise), J10 Consulting, Dubai, UAE

We need a Senior Consultant Civil Engineer (High Rise), 
The Role
Our Multi National Design & Supervision Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Senior Civil Engineer to join their Technical Office team in Dubai, UAE to work on high profile new high rise build projects in the Emirates. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Senior Civil Engineer working on large scale high rise projects in the UAE and the wider GCC and a proven background working in a recognised PMC or Consultancy business. This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity, employed by our client. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct daily site inspections for civil/structural works, including concrete works, steel erection, foundation systems, retaining structures, waterproofing, and precast installations. • Verify contractor’s execution against approved shop drawings, IFC documents, method statements, and specifications. • Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, RFIs, material submittals, and samples related to structural and civil works. • Coordinate with the Resident Engineer, architectural, MEP, and safety teams to ensure integrated and conflict-free execution of works. • Raise and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Site Observation Reports (SORs), and quality-related concerns. • Support the authority inspections , by ensuring compliance and readiness of site documentation. • Monitor contractor’s progress and workmanship; issue site memos when deviation from schedule or quality is observed. • Supervise structural testing (e.g., slump test, cube test, rebar test) as per the ITP and project quality plan. • Participate in snagging and de-snagging processes during project milestones and pre-handover stages.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor s Degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering. MSc preferred • Must have proven experience in High Rise Buildings with high end finishes in the UAE • Overall 15 years experience, at least 5 in UAE and with recognised consultancy companies • Strong understanding of construction techniques, materials, and regulations • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications • In depth review of the material submittals and shop drawings in compliance with project specifications and local regulations • Ability to manage the construction site works and setting the inspections guidelines to the site team • Confidently liaising with Main contractor and subcontractors • Knowledge of structural engineering principles • On-site experience with excellent communication skills • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities • Reporting the RE/PM on technical /Site issues • Good communication skills
