JOB Summary
The primary responsibility is to act as the focal point providing Project Supervision to support drilling equipment recertifications & maintenance under the direction of Senior Management. Guide and mentor others with knowledge and expertise, strengthen and maintain relationships, support financial / contract management, quality orientation, safety leadership and continuous development in all aspects of drilling equipment maintenance, repair & service activities. As the Project Supervision you must ensure technical integrity through setting best practice and providing a high level of technical guidance on all project related matters including people, process, and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
responsible for leading & supporting the safe delivery of projects encompassing, but not limited to, the following:
· Administration of assigned projects.
· Liaison with clients, subcontractors, and other intercompany departments.
· Determine customer requirements and objectives and assist in developing specifications for projects / systems to ensure customer requirements are met.
· Preparation / checking of specifications and drawing packages as well as other technical documents.
· Preparation / checking of work instructions, risk assessments and Material lists as well as other technical project delivery documents.
· Work to recognized quality and technical standards to produce, verify and validate engineering solutions that comply with international codes and standards.
· Development and management of project schedules.
· Completion of purchase requisitions.
· Carry out site visits as required.
· Completion of close out reports and technical documentation.
· Proactive budget control.
· Understand and manage risks that will affect engineering deliverables.
· Actively provide technical guidance and mentoring to others to promote competence and ensure successful delivery of projects.
· Provide support to during commissioning or maintenance periods.
TECHNICAL
· Schedule and coordinate resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment for project tasks.
· Be the contact person for technical queries and oversee potential modifications or changes in project specifications.
· Visit project sites when necessary to ensure adherence to requirements.
· Engage actively in Engineering & Operations meetings.
· Report any HSE incidents related to service delivery in projects.
PROJECT SUPPORT & ADMINISTRATION
· Draft and prepare accurate cost sheets and quotations.
· Keep accurate records of projects and inquiries as per API standards.
· Engage with clients and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
· Draft work procedures and work packs.
· Oversee purchase requisitions/orders and manage the dispatch and transportation of equipment.
· Monitor project finances to ensure budget adherence.
· Prepare end-of-project reports and draft invoices.
BUSINESS GROWTH
· Engage directly with clients to support sales initiatives.
· Assist in compiling and controlling costs in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
· Identify opportunities for business expansion.
· Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports.
DEVELOPMENT
· Assist in the development, compliance and continuous improvement of engineering processes and the engineering development system.
· Proactively mentor and guide colleagues, focusing on:
o Project setup and control.
o Efficient project administration.
HSEQ Responsibilities
· Strict adherence to the Company's Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality Management System.
· Reporting of any incidents, product issues, or potential system problems as per the Management System guidelines.
· Familiarity and compliance with country-specific health, safety, and environmental regulations.
· Oversee the safety of subordinates and visitors while on company premises.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Essential
• 5 Year previous experience with Drilling Equipment Overhauls & Recertification.
• HND, BSc or BEng (Hons) within a relevant discipline, or time served with hands on experience, within a relevant trade.
• Excellent communication skills to enable effective liaison with clients, vendors and other members of staff.
• Effective in dealing with commercial and management aspects of the role.
• Careful and meticulous professional and a motivated self-starter.
• Good technical writing skills, and proficient use of MS Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel etc)
• Knowledge of Hydraulics, electrical and mechanical systems / componentry.
• Experience within a project engineering environment.
