Howden Middle East FZCO (HME) is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and serves as the Regional Business Unit within the Howden MEA (Middle East & Africa) Division. HME is responsible for the Aftermarket business and support of the entire Howden Installed Base in the Middle East.
Howden Middle East strives to provide high quality Aftermarket services as close to our end-users as possible. Our service products range from Field Service Engineers Assistance, Maintenance Contracts, Supply of Spare Parts, Repairs, Modifications, Revamp/Rerates, and Conversions to latest/new technologies.
In this position, you will be based in Dubai and reporting to the Service Operations Manager.
What Needs To Be Done?
Follow and comply with the applicable Howden EHS policies and standards.
Perform/supervise the installation, commissioning and start-up activities of new reciprocating compressors and its auxiliary systems.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities on reciprocating compressors and its auxiliary systems, providing also comprehensive technical support to customers.
Provide technical service of a varied and complex nature at customer site ensuring compliance with Howden standards as well as customer’s standards and procedures.
Take complete ownership for all activities at customer's site related to service and repair or maintenance products taken on for service and/or repair.
Provide technical advice and service on the use and application of the Howden products as directed by the department manager.
Be an advisor and a first point of contact for the customer, reporting both externally and internally.
Promote and expand the Howden brand recognition when at site by providing high quality services and dedicated support to customers.
Support the activities of the Dubai local workshop when needed or as directed by the department manager.
What Do You Need To Bring?
A technical qualification from an institute of higher professional education, such as a B.Eng. (Mechanical or Marine Engineering).
Extensive experience as a field service engineer on rotating equipment, preferably reciprocating compressors, diaphragm compressors and screw compressors.
Experience in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industries preferred.
A good knowledge of maintenance concepts and process techniques.
Practical experience in the fields of electrical engineering, lubrication, measuring techniques, instrumentation and control technology, and hydraulic & pneumatic systems.
Reporting in English must be of a high standard.
Additional Requirements:
The successful candidate is safety minded and enjoys working both independently, as well as within a team.
The successful candidate should have a flexible attitude, a creative practical approach and solid written and spoken communication skills in English language.
Other key characteristics are customer orientation, a strong sense of responsibility, inner drive, tact, ability to cope with stress and analytical thinking.
Candidates must be willing to travel and be posted abroad for extended periods.
