Overall Responsibilities
Health Economics and Market Access (HEMA) is a critical element of our market access strategies to ensure success in an increasingly challenging market environment. New regulations, a decision-making process where the clinician is no longer the only player, and a concept of value which is more and more based on evidence comping from clinical studies and derived economic value from our technologies and solutions, makes it a must that we must equip ourselves with the required capabilities and convey meaningful value-based message to our customers.
Within this context, the purpose of the role within the local HEMA team is to build and demonstrate the economic value of Johnson & Johnson therapies, to strengthen their Value Proposition with the main stakeholders of the Healthcare System, and to implement Market Access strategies aimed at obtaining and increasing the access of therapies at national, regional, or local level.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
- Development for all market access and health economics activities supporting local business in alignment with regional market access strategies
- Develop relationship and projects with relevant external stakeholders and customers to shape the market towards Value Based Healthcare
- Own the health economic input into novel, local commercial initiatives requiring substantiation of value including but not restricted to Value Based Selling, Value -based agreements, and pricing initiatives.
- Development and implementation of local market access strategies and initiatives to unlocking access and achieve funding and reimbursement including HTA development, reimbursement submissions, coverage, and new code applications.
- Develop and implement evidence generation strategy for creation of economic value propositions and achieving market access goals, including but not limited to
- identify and defining local evidence needs,
- communicate local needs to Regional HEMA,
- implement local evidence generation projects (REW, HE-models, business cases, budget impact analyses etc.) in close collaboration with internal functions such as Analytics, Global Epidemiology and EMEA HEMA Managers,
- publication of selected value messages for products, procedures, and service solutions.
- manage external consultancy agencies in delivery of RWE projects and publications
- ensure compliance with internal evidence generation system
- Develop and implement evidence dissemination strategies to deliver economic value propositions to internal and external business partners, including but not limited to
- contribute to the regional development and local adaptation of HEMA EMEA tools (Value Brief, Economic models, reports)
- implement local evidence dissemination projects in close collaboration with EMEA HEMA Managers to optimize the use of Real-World Evidence
- develop and implement training activities for internal and external stakeholders to ensure impact of disseminated evidence
- ensure compliance with internal evidence dissemination system
- Own and manage key priority projects (i.e., RWE projects and work streams) within specific prioritized areas across medical devices
Functional and technical competencies
- Understanding the internal and external environment – high level of knowledge and experience in the health care markets in the Middle East. Understanding of HEMA tools and their benefit for market access strategies and activities in the Middle East
- Applied skills and technical knowledge – knowledge of critical analysis and health economics theory, Evidence Based Medicine and how to apply these techniques
- Persuasive communication – communication and negotiation skills, expert in written communication
- Data Access & Strategy – ability in identifying, collecting, and analyzing data
- Funding acumen – understanding of funding and reimbursement mechanisms in local markets
- Strategic Thinking – applies geographic knowledge to translate EMEA value proposition and provide input into key evidence generation and strategic planning

Qualifications
Experience and skills required
- Proven expertise in developing local market access strategies to drive business
- Knowledge and experience of health economics, evidence and dissemination
- Ability to understand business strategy; translate it into solutions that support the company’s business goal
- Track record of working effectively to shape the market and influence key decision makers
- Ability to deal with ambiguity
- Able to manage multiple demands, with a systematic approach to prioritization
- Experience of working successfully in matrix environments
Education Required
- A postgraduate degree (e.g. MSc, PhD) in Health Economics, RWE, Health Service or related field (Biostatistics, Bioinformatice, Data Science, epidemiology etc).
- Preferably 5+ years of medical device experience, including 3+ years of market access
- Solid understanding of EMEA healthcare market dynamics
- Proficient language skills in English, both verbal and written
Travel
- Willingness to travel in region <40%
