Senior Freight Operations Leader, Aramex, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Job Purpose:

Responsible for all the station Freight operations - Air, Sea & Land including planning, establishing, negotiating and updating all rates. Handle all freight reporting, manage the invoicing process and finalize agreements with carriers and local trucking and packing companies in accordance with Aramex freight quality standards to ensure customers’ management teams requests are met.

Key Responsibilities :

Typical duties included are but not limited to:

Follows-up with the airport operations on daily basis to make sure that all incoming & outgoing shipments have been recovered and delivered to the carriers in accordance to the QOSS.

Monitor the recovery and update for both export and import shipments on the FTS.

Coordinate between the CMT & Clearance teams on the status of the shipment’s under clearance.

Updating the airfreight rates on the freight market.

Studying local market to make sure that Aramex is still a major competitor on the rates and services being offered by the local competitors.

Negotiates rates with the airlines in coordination with the station manager and the freight operations manager and product manager.

Optimizing routes and looking for the best carrier to use on any given route

Monitoring the performance of the cargo center at the station regularly.

Follows-up to assure that all QOSS standards and procedures are implemented.

Develops good relationships with ocean liners, airlines and trucking companies and any other supplier that may be needed for service.

Monitors the customer management teams selling to make sure that Aramex is not losing on any given route.

Review the shipment job costing sheet to make sure that all charges has been accounted for according to the available agreements.

Follow up with the dispatchers to make sure that all scheduled pickups and deliveries have been done.

Attend station’s weekly meeting to discuss latest issues related to the product.

Hold regular meetings with the team to relay updates.

Visiting customers with the customer management teams when need be.

Control the stock of all waybills

Prepare the budget for the freight product of the station along with the product manager

Train the customer management teams and operations members on the freight product

Supervise the freight monthly production report.

General Responsibilities:

Monitors the performance of all operations supervisors to ensure that all standards and procedures are being met.

Ensures proper implementation of all Aramex operational procedures and quality of service standards.

Ensures the proper implementation of corrective and preventive action plans in operations.

Evaluates the performance of team members, identifies their training needs and trains them.

Follows up on operations supplies and handles the stock management.

Coordinates with the station manager/ customer management teams when submitting new offers and having an input in the revenue/cost part of each product.

Seeks new ways and develops new methods to work smarter and more efficiently.

Ensures proper flow of information across the station and across the network if needed.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor degree (Industrial Engineering is preferred)

Computer Proficiency: MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook).

Knowledge of IATA rules & regulations.

Knowledge of local customs regulations & procedures.

Knowledge of local commercial regulations

Knowledge of international transport rules and airlines regulations.

Strong knowledge of sea, Air and land freight

Design to handling both meeting groups and target on local Events Organizer for Corporate and Social functions. Conduct a one-stop shop to send proposal base on pricing guideline, negotiation and executing events. Proactively explore local market for Corporate and Social business.

Star International School Twar is looking to recruit a strong and resilient Head of Secondary to join our school in Dubai for Jan 2024.

The Head of Secondary is a senior figure in the school and as such should be an exemplary, and visible, role model for staff, students and parents. It is not envisaged that Head of Secondary will have a teaching timetable, but the possibility is not excluded. Head of Secondary Key Responsibilities

be responsible for the updating of handbooks and job descriptions in the Secondary School

be responsible for internal and external assessment in the Secondary school and the tracking of student progress.

oversee the setting up, writing and production of high-quality Secondary School reports to parents according to the timetabled schedule.

directly monitor standards through work scrutiny’s, department reviews, observations, teacher and student feedback, and individual appraisal of staff

Oversee the production and maintenance of the Secondary part of the whole school timetable.

ensure adequate cover supervision is provided for absent colleagues.

be responsible for, in liaison with Student Enrichment coordinators, a high-quality extra-curricular programme.

Student Support in the Secondary School - The Head of Secondary will:

work closely with the Assistant Head, Pastoral and may attend meetings

ensure that a comprehensive PSHE programme is in place that provides for the needs of all students.

ensure that all students receive appropriate pastoral care.

be responsible for discipline in the Secondary School, in particular for dealing with serious behavioural issues, suspending students where necessary, or recommending stronger action (expulsion) to the Principal.

be responsible for the setting up and monitoring of an effective student profiling system

monitor the support programmes for those with special needs and language difficulties

be responsible for all health and safety matters in the Secondary School both on and off campus including overseeing school trips according to school policies

manage regular fire drills and duck-and-cover exercises

oversee assemblies in the Secondary School, and take at least one assembly per term.

be responsible for monitoring admissions into the Secondary School

be responsible for ensuring the highest standards when Secondary students are involved in performances, whether inside or outside school.

Provision and efficient use of educational resources - The Head of Secondary will:

in cooperation with the Principal, allocate budgets to academic departments and oversee the purchasing and inventory process

ensure that all departments are adequately resourced to provide high quality curriculum delivery

Teacher support - The Head of Secondary will:

be responsible for monitoring and raising the quality of teaching and learning in the secondary school.

be responsible for the running of a rigorous performance management process for Secondary staff that takes account of both personal and school developmental needs.

oversee a programme of professional development opportunities, in liaison with the CPD Coordinator, both internal and external, which links to school needs and the performance management process.

be responsible for the induction of new staff.

Links - The Head of Secondary will:

Develop cross-curricular links in the Secondary School

liaise on a regular basis with the various school administration departments supporting staff and student well-being.

liaise with the marketing department in promoting the school.

ensure that connectivity between The Secondary School and Primary school is developed at every opportunity.

develop opportunities for connectivity between SIS Mirdif, its sister campus and other similar ISP schools.

take every opportunity to develop links with the local community.

Communication - The Head of Secondary will:

Run Secondary School Briefings

be responsible for the organisation of parent-teacher conferences according to the calendar.

be responsible, in collaboration with other senior leaders, for the production and updating of a school calendar, which includes meeting schedules and events.

be responsible for the production of a duty rota for secondary staff.

be responsible for monitoring staff communication with parents.

be responsible for the Secondary School content on the website, publications and advertisements.

Other whole school duties and tasks will be assigned and agreed upon as appropriate.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

The candidate should hold a degree i.e., B.Ed. or a B. A or equivalent.

A certified teaching qualification, at degree level such as B.Ed., PGCE, PGDE or equivalent.

An ‘Outstanding’ teacher with at least 5 years of experience working in an International British Curriculum school is desirable.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to harness individuals’ potential and ideas bringing them together in one cohesive team.

Excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills to work closely with students and parents.

A collaborative team-player with excellent personal skills.

Classroom and behavior management
