Civil Engineer, OQ, Sohar, Oman

Job purpose

Implement Civil engineering tasks and support executing key Civil tasks & Projects as Civil Engineer, through (1) Providing technical support in implementing the key Civil Engineering activities & Projects, initiates, finds route cause and proposes solutions to defects for on line / off line implementation, and (2) Implement Civil Engineering tasks, activities and procedures in order to ensure that the equipment design, structures and civil works  meet the approved engineering design criteria, applicable codes & standards and functional requirements including compliance with department strategy and project specifications.

 

The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Execute the Civil Engineering technical detailed design scope and endeavour to bring out the best strategies and approaches to deliver the technical requirements. 

Prepare the necessary documentation, establishing major methods and data as necessary and ensure the selection of the optimum Civil   solutions from both technical and economic standpoints. 

Ensure that design method, standards and data used conform to Asset Owners requirements and/or OQ specifications.

Ensure the preparation of Civil Recommendations with optimal technical solutions addressing user requirements.

Provide support to Minor Projects Delivery team and monitor quality to ensure all Civil Engineering deliverables are accomplished. 

Carries out Civil engineering calculations as per company procedures and/or approved international practices and codes.

Ensure OQ Safety and Quality control procedures are followed during the execution of all works and that a high standard of safety is achieved in all design and execution works.

Participate pre and post contract award in discussions with Asset Owners to assess and assist in the definition of user requirements. 

Review Civil   Engineering Deliverables and participate in project reviews and workshops.

Participate in solving Civil engineering challenges that are recognized during the development of the Front End Package or detailed engineering

Identify gaps in existing practices and tools and manage the process of developing new practices or toolkit items that enhance OQ technological offerings.

Conduct or supervise site inspection for accuracy of Civil works including mechanical walk-downs.

Key interactions

Internal: Operators, Shift supervisor, Maintenance Coordinator, Process Trainer, Technical Services Department, Engineer production. All TSD Team Leaders and Engineers, Operations, Maintenance and Procurement, Contracts.

External: Contractors, Vendors & Suppliers

Notable Working Conditions. Field Operations and office environment, Moderate to intensive computer screen use.

Education requirements

Minimum Qualifications for this position is Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

Language requirements 

Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required) | Arabic - Native (desirable)

Background and experience

Competencies and skills

Engineer: Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience

Relevant experience in similar role within the Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical industry, preferably in the area/assets associated with this position. 

Civil Engineer role within the Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical industry.

Well versed on the latest International Code & Standards related to Civil Engineering

Knowledge of Engineering Software like STAAD /AutoCAD for Civil Engineer.

Experience in reviewing, executing Engineering Software like STAAD / AutoCAD for Civil Engineer

Good knowledge in Quality Assurance, Quality Control and HSE plans.

Familiar with techniques for ensuring data integrity with various integration of information/ reports.

Knowledge of personal computer applications such as MS Office.

Experience in handling FEED/EPC Contracts

HSE (Permit to Work – PTW, Process Safety, H2S Awareness, Basic Fire Fighting, Emergency Response)

Experience and well versed in field investigation, inspections, troubleshooting, performance checks, data compilation, etc.

Understanding of Process Plant & Engineering drawings and material data sheets.

INDUSTRIAL CITY OPERATIONS (DCA)

Primary purpose of job

Direct, supervise and monitor all Electrical maintenance and corrective activities within approved budget and time to ensure

the reliability, availability and integrity for DCA business continuity objectives.

Initiate and implement contracts for routine, corrective, emergency and minor modification works including review / approval

of technical documents. Assess inspection findings, prepare failure reports and update records, data sheets & maintenance

history for all activities.

Coordinate with-in and other areas of the organization as One QatarEnergy mentality for the day-to-day maintenance

activities, commissioning and handing-over of new Projects.

Experience & Skills

• At least 10 years’ experience in Oil & Gas Electrical Installation and Maintenance.

• Good communication skills in English language (spoken & written).

• Exposure to International experience and appreciation of cultural sensitivities.

• Ability to work under tight targets/schedule and multiple tasks upon using strong time management, and strong

organizational skills.

Role purpose:

The Workforce Management specialist is responsible for call flow management, forecasting and scheduling workload for the customer service areas.

Accountable for the call flow management for the Customer Care Centres, analysing historical trends and real time variance drivers,

Ensures Operational goals are met by analysing work volume variances to forecast and provide direction to adjust scheduling/staffing levels accordingly. Monitors intra-day service levels and directs real-time changes to meet service levels.  Expectations are to track & monitor actual vs forecasted call volumes real time and recommend actions aligned with the budgetary requirements. Use analytical skills to prepare reports & analysis of data and its impacts.

 

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

 

Actively drives the following areas of Vodafone Qatar’s Offshore/Onshore Contact Centre operations.

Realtime monitoring and acting on the changes swiftly to ensure minimum impact on service level due to any unforeseen incidents

Highlight deviation in KPI achievement and be quick to raise an alarm with the respective stakeholders to act

Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with other departments around the business appropriately and as quickly as possible to highlight any issues impacting customer care performance

To attain and maintain agreed key performance indicators as aligned with those of Vodafone Qatar Customer Care

Evaluates effectiveness of team’s real time response to managing planned and unplanned events, all to ensure effective utilization of call center phone support resources to achieve business objectives

Empowered to provide recommendations to Leadership to address obstacles that stand in the way of meeting objectives, which can include call center SL, Schedule, and occupancy and shrinkage goals.

Empowered to evaluate processes and procedures and creates automated solutions to improve efficiency and quality of manual processes

Manage End to End Process of User Access Management (UAM) / VPN Access Review

Manage the incentive and overtime payment for customer care teams and ensure timely payment and coordination with the relevant team

End to end management of PO raising for customer care function and management and tracking of the budget spent and remaining

Headcount management for the onshore care team and ensure teams are backfilled and requisitions are raised on time

Skills

 Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business Administration & Accounting or equivalent

2 – 3 years of experience in WFM/ Reporting Function with strong exposure to RTA, SLA, Scheduling, Forecasting

Proficiency in MS Office particularly Excel & Power Point

Basic knowledge of using data analytics tools such as power BI, Tableau etc Strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint & Avaya CMS

Strong Analytical, Communication & Problem Solving Skills
