JOB SUMMARY

Provide analytical solutions and support for Analytical Science team at SABIC Technology Center-Jubail (STC-J) in material characterization lab to support the business continuity of SABIC Business Units (SBUs), Manufacturing and Technology & Innovation (T&I) development projects.  Also contribute to continuous improvement of lab operation and efficiency while implementing all related Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) standards and related SHEMs procedures.

Job Purpose & Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality analytical support to Business Units and Manufacturing business continuity within pre-defined deadlines and aligned with business needs and impact.
  • Support innovation in analytical material characterization technology to provide high quality technical solution/support to SABIC Affiliates projects, and T&I accolade projects including new method development, new capability development and implementation.      
  • Has good technical knowledge about material characterization, metallurgy/corrosion analysis, refractory testing, and coating testing related to characterization area.
  • Has advanced experience in standard test methods and non-standard Methods to characterize metallic and non-metallic samples by XRD, XRF, OES, CS and ON&H analyzers.           
  • Strong hands-on experience in carryout corrosion tests, monitoring and coating evaluation.
  • Prepare samples for material characterization using various standard and customized methods for routine/ non- routine testing along with implementation of analytical methods.                       
  • Ensure calibration, maintenance of instruments and test methods and all operation as per ISO17025 & participate in PTS program. 
  • Work with lab chemists, engineers and technicians in implementation of EHSS/SHEMs procedures, instrument/tools maintenance and positive progressive attitude within in the Laboratory and office.       
  • Operates and maintains equipment, recognizes equipment malfunction, troubleshoots and repairs as necessary.
  • Assists in training and orientation of laboratory staff including but not limited to Laboratory Scientists
     

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Master or Ph.D's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Corrosion Science or closely related field.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of analytical chemistry, and material characterization technologies.
  • Minimum of 10 + years relevant experience in analytical chemistry, more specifically in material (metals, powder, liquid, polymers, catalysts) characterization (mainly XRF/ XRD Analyses, C/S & O/N&H Analyses, TGA and FTIR), Refractory Analysis and Corrosion/Coating Testing.
  • Knowledge in statistics and design of experiments is preferred.

Job Purpose

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist After Sales Manager in preparing annual service targets, and set monthly targets accordingly  (Gross Profit, Labour Revenue, No of vehicles serviced, CSI, Productivity, Efficiency, Retention…etc.) and continues monitor the achievement and take necessary proactive action in order to achieve given target.
  • Manage daily affairs of workshop by monitoring the efficiency, productivity and utilization levels of the workshop and identifying improvement areas through feedback received from customers to ensure that the team achieves required standards of service.
  • Compile company and Principle’s policies and procedures to ensure ethical, uniform and smooth functioning of the workshop by adhering to industry standards and following best practices to minimize risk and ensure occupational health and safety compliance.
  • Prepare, submit and communicate monthly reports detailing all key figures associated with the role to the Management for monitoring progress against plans and targets.
  • Ensure the Work Instructions procedures are properly implemented and completed for quick turnaround time of the vehicle to Ensure repair is conducted with full adherence to manufacturer guidelines
  • Monitor availability of the spares & other consumables in coordinate with Parts department and other vendor ensure smooth operation of services
  • Resolve escalated customer complaints and implement corrective actions to avoid recurrence in order to improve customer satisfaction index
  • Ensure field technical reports are generated and submitted as and when required for product improvement.
  • Ensure repairs (recall / warranty/ general repair) are carried out as per the guidelines of the manufacture to meet repair quality
  • Conducts regular team meetings to review performances, achievements of targets and ensures that employees remain abreast with business outlook.
