Job Purpose
The Senior Software Engineer is a fully participating member of a cross functional team working autonomously on technology development and problem resolution. The role involves the design, development, implementation and maintenance of technology solutions and products that support the Emirates Group Business. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES - Lead technical design and build for small to medium sized solutions in a team. Translate functional and non-functional requirements into fit for purpose technical design. Ensure solution performance, business edge cases and security related issues while developing software. - Debug issues of complexity and follows design documents with minimal or no supervision. - Code review by peers/technical leads demonstrates good coding principles. Software engineering tasks or problems of moderate to high scope. Ttranslate business solution requirements into potential technical solutions based on technical design. - Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. - Work with senior technical engineers in the technical design process by contributing in the analysis of technical application requirements. - Automate unit tests and carries out testing independently. Troubleshoot issues, fixes defects that are moderate to high complexity and carry out testing independently. - Shadows senior engineers on design and architecture components and collaborate with members of the cross functional team to identify areas of inefficiency and propose solutions. - Adhere to the Emirates Group IT coding standards, guidelines and best practices and contribute to Software Engineering Playbooks and other Standards documents. SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILIES Data Engineering and Data Analytics - Conduct data analysis activities such as source system analysis, data dictionary collection, data profiling and source-to-target mapping to ensure solutions deliver on business needs. - Update data inventories and registries as required to keep metadata and data lineage up-to-date, following agreed Data Governance standards, guidelines and principles.
Qualifications & Experience
Knowledge/skills: As well as strong analytical skills the Senior Software Engineer must have worked with a range of technologies, understands the difference between them and competently use technology with minimal supervision: - Microservice or Microfrontend architecture - Java 11-17 or JavaScript/TypeScript - SpringBoot 2.X or latest ReactJS/NextJS - Reactive approach / functional programming style - NoSQL (CouchBase preferable) / message brokers (Solace preferable) - DevOps/GitOps practices - EKS/Openshift - Hybrid cloud, distributed, scalable, multi-region solution - Scalable, traceable, observable solutions

Civil-3D Engineer, SNC Lavalin, Dubai, UAE

 We are looking for an experienced Civil 3D Design Engineer to be based in our Dubai office.

The successful candidate will primarily work with the Digital Transformation Team and supports all strategic initiatives and technical requirements of infrastructure projects undertaken by Atkins in the Middle East.


Essential Requirements

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D to Create high-quality, high-performing infrastructure designs with conceptual and detailed design tools.

  • Experienced in integrating and aggregating design data coming from industry standard formats from multiple disciplines and in integrating civil engineering models with point clouds, raster data and reality meshes.

  • Proficiency in performing design tasks such as surface analyses, drawing alignments, creating profiles / sections, creating design profiles, basic grading capabilities with 3D Polylines / Feature lines, Grading Groups, and Corridors, and perform volume calculations.

  • Proficiency in integrated analysis, generative design, and visualization and simulation tools.

  • Proficiency in representation of network & corridor plans, scheme plans, utility plans.

  • Experienced in producing standards-compliant documentation available in designs and models

  • Strong communication skills and ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions, and the ability to interact effectively to maintain a team environment.

  • Experience of Automation using native AutoLISP, VBA etc.

  • Qualifications

  • A Civil Engineering Degree or Diploma with 5 years or more industry experience

Desirable Requirements

  • Great command on Autodesk Civil 3D API and Python scripting skills in Dynamo

  • Autodesk Certified Professional.

  • Exposure to Bentley software like MicroStation and ESRI Software like ArcGIS.

  • Experience of Authority submissions standards and requirements in the GCC.

Responsibilities

  • Key contact for Autodesk Civil 3D based infrastructure design and support for the digital transformation team and assists the infrastructure engineers as instructed by the leadership

  • Be involved with the strategic initiatives and digital enablement by supporting, networking, and improving 3D Design Standards and efficiencies across the company.

  • Assign work to CAD technicians and supervise the preparation of design drawings and details, review completed work products to ensure quality and accuracy.

  • Assist in the education and development of CAD technicians and resolve day to day technical problems coming from various projects.

Job Description

  • The primary function of this role is to sell and support life cycle services for Eaton Emergency Lighting and Fire Systems and solutions to targeted customers with the responsibility to provide sales and technical assistance in close co-ordination with authorized service providers, customers, end users, and area sales managers.
  • Achieve annual service revenue goal. Provide accurate sales forecasting and customer relationship management data on revenue streams for the mapped installed base.
  • Analyze and provide advice for customers’ existing equipment status and recommended replacement schedules.
  • Communication skills must be adequate to interface effectively with all external stakeholders including the maintenance/engineering/facility managers on the site.
  • Develop timely and accurate service quotations with the help of centralized resources.
  • Understand competitor’s offerings and articulate Eaton’s competitive advantages for upgrade & replacement scenarios. Schedule and conduct frequent Face to face visits with customers across the assigned geography, to educate the customer on the component life cycle aspects.
  • Responsible for technical and administrative support for activities including installation, testing, commissioning, repair, modifications, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, engineering change, upgrades, etc. through the current service provider infrastructure within the country.
  • Responsible for creating customer accounts, company registrations, tracking and recording leads generated
  • Provide customers basic application information via phone or on-site consultation and utilize the service provider network for 24-hour x 7 days a week on-call duty and respond to emergencies with minimal notification.
  • Responsible for managing specific service contract/s as the single point of contact interfacing into customer organization, while working to drive additional sales in those specific service contract/s (including 24x7) and provide services quote when required.
  • Maintain service log and report of work performed, by self (were need arises) or the service provider network.
  • Continuously improve personal, technical, and professional business skills enabling incumbent to service products to customer’s satisfaction through keeping current with product technology as measured by the ability to troubleshoot and repair various products and to instruct others. Demonstrate safety consciousness in equipment handling, electrical and electronic procedures, and the unique situations encountered at diverse work sites

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written. Strong computer skills. A driving license is a must.
  • Good understanding of Emergency Lighting and Fire Systems and experience in testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing of life safety systems is highly desirable.
  • Experience in planning, managing site work, coordinating small to medium projects for preventative maintenance, replacements, and upgradations.
  • Minimum of three (8-10) years of experience working and servicing & sales of emergency lighting and/or Fire Systems
  • Understand the proper use of hand-tools, and when it is appropriate to use insulated tools. Understand the need for safety, and comply with company and customer rules on safety
  • Must be self-motivated. Proven organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and balance workload with the ability to leverage support personnel to meet customer and organizational needs

 Summary

Responsible for technical support in the country and guarantee the service level provided to customers in preventive maintenance, repair calls, emergency support as well as adequate technical know-how support to sales activities.

Your Responsibilities

  • You have strong problem solving skills, and are able to demonstrate advanced troubleshooting technique on biomedical equipment
