This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Pipeline Engineer to join our UAE Business Unit. This role is full time residential role based in Sharjah, UAE.

Job Objectives:
Executing Assigned Scopes of Work:
Participates as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering assignmentDirects preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned projectsEnsures successful completion of the assigned project/phase within the budgeted time and cost constraintsParticipates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling workEvaluates problems, organizes investigations and establishes general performance specifications for components, equipment, systems, processes, etc.Check Engineering calculations as well as check all drawings in accordance with industry codes and standards; Assist with the development of less senior Technical ProfessionalsAdhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement.Participate in audits and incident investigations as requiredPerforms complex engineering tasks related to specific units of major projectsParticipate in site visits, project review meetings, design reviews and other workshops as required.Organizing and active participation in design reviews

Supporting and Supervising task delegation to team:
May supervise a small work group consisting of technical/professional staff with some coaching from own supervisor, or may provide advice and guidance in area of specialization to othersAssist in performing managerial tasks as requested, such as assigning tasks to engineers; planning and coordinating portions of the engineering work; preparing scopes, schedules, and budgets; attending project meetings; and developing lesser-experienced technical professionalsDiscusses with other senior engineers to agree priorities and implications on work of othersApproves work schedules and makes recommendations for increased resources and special equipmentMakes commitments on acceptance of projects, completion dates, resources and staff required to meet goalsCoordinates the activities of engineering and design groups assigned to small projectsParticipates in developing deadlines, projects and work to be doneMay manage one or more small projects, with responsibility for cost, schedule, resources allocation and risk.Provide appropriate HSSE leadership including compliance with site and office safety requirements and technical/design safety requirementsQualificationsWhat makes you remarkable?

Expected:
B.Sc. or equivalent degree in the Engineering discipline from an accredited university.Minimum of 10+ years relevant experience in major Brownfield oil & gas projects, including at least five (5) years in similar position.Knowledge, skills and experience:
Specific experience in Oil and Gas projects across their lifecycle in the GCC region, preferredPre-FEED, FEED experience is requiredDetailed Engineering experience is preferredProficiency in MS Excel, Caesar II/Autopipe and awareness in Arc GIS, Autocad, NavisworkPrepare pipeline design deliverablesProvide input to produce pipeline documents and drawingsComplete pipeline design calculations (wall thickness, buoyancy, bending, etc.)Provide field engineering support to perform site surveys and data gathering at various locations throughout the fieldComplete Material Take Offs and associated Material RequisitionsCoordinate procurement bids and complete technical bid evaluationsIdentify optimization and operating cost reduction opportunitiesEnsure construction and field modifications meet the requirements of all applicable codes, standards and regulationsAwareness of interdisciplinary activities and coordination such as PFD & P&ID’sResponsible for design team activities and assisting Senior Designer and EngineersAssist in coordination of all activities related to pipeline discipline

Ability to provide guidance and direction to project team, managing, motivating and mentoring professional engineering specialists.Ability to discover issues and recommend solutions to technical and commercial issues uncovered during course of performing assignmentsProficient user of relevant software and calculation templatesProfessional level of ability in the application of standards, processes and procedures and how they are used in work executionProfessional level of knowledge of applicable codes and standardsTechnically competent in own discipline, pursues continuous professional development of skills and knowledge according to standardsMaintains own knowledge of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments and promotes to direct reports.Applies mature professional knowledge and experience to assignments where issues and factors to be considered may be characterized by unsual demands and require additional evaluation to establish the nature and scope of the problemDemonstrated ability to apply advanced laws, principles, mathematics or industry knowledge in the improvement and development of designsDemonstrated skills in persuasion, negotiation, motivation and communicationDemonstrated proficiency in project planningPossess a working knowledge of the various Business Units, Functions, Sectors and services offered within business area, and general understanding of other Wood business offerings
