RCL FOODS is seeking a skilled National Operations Manager to join our Customer Team in Pretoria.

The purpose of this role is:

  • To bring together the planning, organisation, implementation and measurement under one roof to foster growth and execution excellence.
  • To plan, organise and monitor implementation of the marketing, customer strategy through appointed in-store execution partners.
  • The role will be required to support the internal operations team with sales admin support namely: CRM systems, fleet, travel, budgets, dairies management, presentations and design of Power BI reports and interpreting of data with trends for the internal and external in-store execution teams to action.
  • Manage external relationships with merchandising and in store activation agencies

Duties & Responsibilities

Vendor Management: In-store Execution Partner Management

  • Contract Oversight: Ensure compliance with contractual obligations to reduce risk and control costs.
  • Performance Monitoring: Define and track metrics for quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Value Delivery: Ensure vendors consistently meet or exceed standards for optimal results.

Relationship Building:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure a broad spectrum of choices and avoid over-reliance on a few suppliers.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for vendors, facilitating communication and resolving issues.

Inventory Management:

  • Ensure sufficient inventory levels by coordinating with vendors and internal departments.
  • Route supplies to appropriate departments and manage vendor billing and disbursements.

Training and Development:

  • Train and develop Vendor staff on KPI`s and audits.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve vendor management processes.

Process Management/ Management of Administration

  • Type and format documents/confidential and routine reports and create presentations using word processing and related MS Office applications/ BI tools

Centralise Operations Execution Management

  • Work with marketing, customer marketing and customer teams to plan, organise execution briefs
  • Funnel all in-store execution requirements from internal stakeholders and approve execution plans
  • Track and monitor in-store execution teams performance through reports and insights

Data, Analytics and Report Management

  • Analytics Solutions: Design, develop, and deliver analytics tools that turn insights into actionable outcomes.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Guide analysts, partner with technology teams, and foster data communities across business functions.
  • Reporting & Dashboards: Build self-service dashboards and reports to empower stakeholders and improve business performance.
  • CRM Insights: Understand user behaviour within CRM systems and champion enhancements for better user experience.
  • Ad-hoc Analysis: Perform on-demand data analysis as needed.

Budget Management

  • Budget Planning & Development: Create annual budgets and forecasts; set goals with department heads.
  • Financial Analysis: Review revenues, expenditures, and cash flow; report variances and recommend improvements.
  • Monitoring & Compliance: Track performance, analyze trends, and support decision-making.
  • Resource Allocation: Manage cash flow, control costs, and ensure spending aligns with approved limits.
  • Strategic Alignment: Forecast future needs, assess risks, and facilitate cross-department communication.

Assist with the Planning for the Development Consultant Teams/ Trainers/ Digital Sales Agents

  • Collaborate with regional teams to optimize outlet targeting models, allocate resources cost-effectively, and refine strategies for maximum ROI. Oversee data analysis and strike rate planning.

People Management

  • Lead and coach teams, manage performance, ensure service standards, and guide both direct and indirect reports, including external consultants.

Technology

  • Maintain and improve sales support systems, benchmark against best practices, and work with partners and service providers to meet operational and tender requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • BCOM Degree or equivalent in Sales
  • 5 years’ experience in merchandising management/trade marketing
