Job Description
As the Financial Accounting Analyst, you will be supporting the accounting, reporting & month end close process for the business unit. This position requires an excellent technical accounting skills as well as superb analytical, excel/Power BI/any other automation tools and good communication skills.
Responsibilities include:
Ensure correct and transparent recording of all business transactions in the relevant period
Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data
Review general ledger on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy of posting
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial reports monthly, quarterly and yearly
Good knowledge of dealer sales incentive programs, handling accounting and review of such multiple programs
Handling budgeting/forecasting of sales incentives and driving continuous forecasting accuracy
Perform detailed analysis and support FP&A by providing reasons for variances with previous periods
Drive process improvements in assigned areas of responsibility
Support review of contracts from technical accounting perspective
Ensure all desk procedures related to areas under responsibility are updated on timely manner
Implement and ensure appropriate financial and internal controls in compliance with company policies and procedures or as deemed appropriate by senior leadership team
Prepare account reconciliations for assigned accounts and ensure all aged items are resolved on a timely manner
Support any special projects/assignments as required, and perform ad-hoc analysis as requested
Proactively seeks opportunities to grow (e.g. develops new skills, attend training opportunities, building network, seeking feedback etc.)
Basic Skills, Knowledge, Behaviors:
Comprehend, interpret and present to others the financial results, variance analysis of financial results and account reconciliations
Address issues by identifying appropriate alternatives for timely resolution, and identify issues that require escalation
Interpret and operationalize applicable accounting policies and procedures
Prepare written communications in a clear and concise manner
Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles
Demonstrates qualities (e.g., ethics, integrity, expertise) that establish credibility with all internal and external constituents
Able to prepare & present structured presentations to leadership
GM Specific Skills, Knowledge, Behaviors:
Proficient understanding of SAP & HFM system functionality
Understanding of GM’s management, legal, and segment organizational structures and how they are consolidated
Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum 5-year experience in finance (Accounting/forecasting is an advantage)
3+ years in Big 4 audit firm or US publicly listed would be an advantage
Excellent understanding of financial statements
Education:
Bachelor Degree in Accounting and/ or Finance
CPA or equivalent
Skills:
Strong Technical accounting skills
Excellent excel skills, should be able to do excel modelling. Knowledge of Power BI & Knime preferred
Project management skills to manage project
Good presentation skills and interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical skills to be able to synthesize complex and diverse information
