The Commercial Manager, is responsible for developing a commercial strategy covering all segments and channels to maximize total revenue and profit performance as well as market share penetration of the hotel by managing revenue streams, marketing activity and implementing and delivering sales strategies along with developing a high-performing commercial team.
What will I be doing?
Direct accountability for delivering all hotel revenues including: Rooms / Group, Conference and Events / Food and Beverage / Other revenues.
Own commercial strategy from planning through to execution using the Hilton commercial focus process.
Develop in conjunction with leadership team a commercial strategy that is robust, maximises revenue opportunities and correctly positions our hotel within the marketplace deriving maximum market share.
Manage and lead a high performing commercial team day-to-day to achieve set goals reflected in the hotels commercial strategy contributing to the overall hotel strategy.
Ensure our rate or volume strategy is optimised to deliver results – this will involve developing a close, effective working relationship with our central revenue team.
Manage the hotels revenue and booking systems ensure the information is accurate and up-to-date to allow the hotel maximise yield and ADR.
Working in conjunction with the F&B leader to develop and achieve F&B strategy and revenue.
Should be able to build an F&B Forecast and present in comparison to actual to key stake holders.
To take decisions relating to the commercial performance of the hotel by ensuring all decisions contribute towards the achievement of KPIs and financial targets.
Work with all stakeholders to achieve maximum business performance for all.
Have an active presence in the community both locally and nationally – attending networking events, exhibitions, local events, sponsorship opportunities and manage key accounts – building relationships with key contacts, monitoring key account productivity.
Complete month-end reports and to be able to provide detailed commentary on progress and activities.
Actively involved in budget preparation and business forecasting – proposing and leading execution of commercial strategy for the hotel.
Identify potential new business opportunities and highlight risk situations using market intelligence and keeping in line with trends.
Creation and delivery of a creative marketing plan that helps establish our hotel within the marketplace both locally and nationally.
Stay up to date with Hilton initiatives and communicate them to team members.
Ensure Team Members have the correct knowledge for all relevant processes, policies and promotions, as necessary, to perform their duties.
Manage staff performance in compliance with company policies and procedures. Recruit, manage, train and develop the hotels sales team.
What are we looking for?
A Commercial Manager serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:
Minimum of 3+ year’s hospitality industry experience within the UAE where you have managed and lead the commercial department.
Strong leadership skills, with evidence that you can effectively manage and motivate a team to perform and aim to exceed high expectations.
Revenue Background with strong analytical skills with an proven track record on accurate forecasting and budgeting.
Strong Track record of analysing financial data to make strategic/tactical decisions
Knowledge of evaluating and identifying business opportunities with a strong focus on driving incremental revenue.
Fluent in English, Regional language will be an added bonus.
Previous experience in dealing with key stake holders and ability to collaborate with department heads to deliver on the hotel objectives.
Knowledge of Marketing, E-commerce, and Finance.
