Responsibilities
The Global Engineering Manager will be responsible for defining and standardizing how we engineer and design Manage Pressure Wells. The role will be setting process and guidance that aligns with industry best practice and demand by customers. It is reliant of the role to establish engineered solutions that demonstrate not only technical but also economic value to our customers and their operations, ensuring growth and adoption of Managed Pressure Wells across all applications. The role will be responsible for developing a strategic Wells Engineering Strategy, creating new revenue stream that is competitive and built on our leading technologies and software for Managed Pressure Wells. This includes development of cross product line synergies that will enhance our capabilities and advance our engineered solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities

Maintains the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all activities are carried out ethically and in compliance with Company policies and procedures, relevant laws, regulations, standards, and industry practices
Responsible with being familiar with the Company's Security, Compliance & HSE policies and takes an active role in the compliance & improvement of Weatherford Management System including meeting all reporting requirements
Complies with the Company’s Rules to Live By and all applicable rules, regulations, and standards that the Company abides by
Places Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk of loss.
Seeks continual improvement in Quality, Health, Safety, Security & protection of the Environment, considering responsible care, process vulnerabilities, public, customer and employee inputs, knowledge and technology and best business practices to exceed customer expectations
In a management role demonstrates effective safety leadership by being responsible for the health and safety arrangements of all and any subordinates and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises to enhance the Company’s commitment to safety performance
QUALITY
Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of the companies Management System
Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business
VISION & LEADERSHIP
Demonstrates leadership, ethical behaviour and adherence to company standards at all times
Promote the continual quality improvement strategy of the company to meet strategic business objectives and profitability
Set and monitor global targets for Key Performance Indicators and define safety and service quality improvement action plans geared to enhance safety, quality & efficiency
Develop long-term plans to promote and meet Managed Pressure Wells solutions for the product line
OPERATIONS
Represents the Managed Pressure Drilling business globally. Liaise with clients and vendors in the specification of managed pressure wells and engineered solutions.
Ensures that the organization is optimally suited to identify customer needs and problems, to offer them the most appropriate and cost-effective solutions, to deliver the best job execution with outstanding service quality
Attend customer design reviews or sales meetings for new and existing products, as required
Participate in liaison with clients, where applicable, in conjunction with Product Line and Engineering Stakeholders
Support modifications to existing products to meet internal or external customer needs.
Conduct evaluations and design reviews of new and existing product designs
Provide engineering support to operational staff during field runs, ensuring the highest level of Customer Service Quality is maintained throughout
Provide technical support to field operations and other company officials.
COMMUNICATION
Build strong and positive relationships with client at various levels
Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, operations, and R&D to support product successes and market growth
Work with the Global Product Line managers to establish synergies and development engineered solutions that encompass multiple product line offerings.
Coordinate technical participation, conference request and client’s events that required global or corporate participation with Sales organization and the Geozones
Maintain active engagement with Geozone engineering teams to support continued training and development as well as realization of strategic goals
Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and external.
Promote an open communication environment to ensure correct procedures, policies and documentation requirements are implemented and followed
FINANCIAL
All employees have an accountability to the organization to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses
Costs incurred should be within approved budget and processed within agreed time frames and following the relevant financial policy and procedure
PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT
Leads and motivates employees to work to the best of their ability as part of the team through open communications, regular meetings, coaching and counseling, attention to their needs, recognition and rewards for their individual contributions and collective accomplishments
Develop and maintain the engineering career path for the product line
Employees in a supervisory role are responsible for actively engaging their employees to support talent management through the companies performance management & coaching tools and processes, including but not limited to talent assessments and succession planning
Employees in a supervisory role are responsible for driving strategies for the recruitment & retention of key personal & to foster an environment that enables the Company to attract & retain a high performing talented workforce
Qualifications
Education & Experience
REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree, equivalent university degree or combination of education and experience
10+ years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industry, particularly in Operations
Strong experience in drilling engineering and project management
Experience with managing and leading internal resources as well as external contracting resources
Project management experience and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Experience in Managed Pressure Drilling technologies with emphasis on drilling and well engineering
Have held the position of Operations or Geozone Business Manager and/or Technical Sales Manager
PREFERRED
Experience in Oil & Gas related engineering within an oilfield equipment
Relevant engineering design experience gained in an Oil and Gas industry
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or master’s degree in Drilling Engineering or a related subject
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
REQUIRED
Proven innovator with ability to realize and develop engineered solutions
Proven ability to technical problem solving
Working knowledge of engineering practices, standards and specifications particularly related to the oil field service industry
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to effectively manage in a team environment
Demonstrated leadership skills and effective, reliable and appropriate decisions making
Very strong project management skills including abilities in project accountability and cost management
Demonstrates high degree of creativity, foresight and mature judgment in planning, organizing and guiding extensive engineering activities
Ability to handle multiple project activities simultaneously, coordinate and interact with multiple company departments and outside companies
Strong interpersonal, decision making, and negotiation skills are required
Strong team skills, mentoring training and presentation skills
The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations
