Info Arab Media FZ-LLC is seeking to hire a News Producer to join our existing News Team in the Headquarter located in Dubai, UAE. The News Producer will be responsible for the creative development, production, content quality of assigned programs; constructing fresh, informative, creative, compelling newscasts, summaries, updates and assigned special event coverage, ensuring balanced content consist (consistent) with the mission goals of the company.
The selected candidate is expected to perform the following tasks:
- Coordinates with Head of News & Output Editor on selecting timely news material.
- Prepares format/rundown for newscast, summaries, updates or assigned special event coverage.
- Writes stories for assigned newscasts.
- Actively participates in editorial meetings.
- Reviews all script for assigned newscasts.
- Obtains legal and editorial clearances from Output Editor.
- Ensures that all additional production details are completed, including graphics, chyrons, etc.
- Provides Control Room with critical information regarding the timing, content and execution of live shots while program is on-air.
- Follows commands of Output Editor in the control room when breaking news is on the air.
- Aggressively pursue breaking news and assist Assignment Desk and other newscast producers during coverage of breaking news.
- Inputs and conducts final review of show content in video editing system to ensure a clean broadcast.
- Assigns and edits stories to Multimedia writers on the team.
- Contributes story ideas on a daily, weekly and long-range basis.
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or broadcast journalism preferred.
- 2-3 year of experience producing television newscasts.
- Excellent Arabic writing skills.
- Working knowledge of and ability to use video editing system.
- Ability to thrive in an environment requiring teamwork.
- Solid news judgment.
- Ability to work under intense deadline pressure.
- Exercise self-discipline and time-management skills.
- Sound editorial and creative judgment is essential.
