You will work with electrical CAD designers to review drawings and provide technical input on drawings and specifications suitable for electrical procurement and system installation.

Position Overview



Oversees design and engineering management of facility Electrical Systems, Controls and system interfaces internal to project facilities. Closely liaises with Mechanical, Architectural and Communications and Controls Engineering Staff to ensure effective implementation of Electrical Systems internal to project facilities.

Specific Responsibilities

Design Support

Provides technical input to consultants as required during the design phase of facilities and systems related to internal electrical systems in facilities.

Participates in design progress meetings as required.

Coordinates electrical facility systems including, power distribution, low voltage, lighting, grounding, panel distribution boards, electrical controls and supply to motors, generators, UPS, etc.

Coordinates electrical load requirements for specialty systems and equipment.

Reviews completeness of Consultant's submittals and ensures incorporation of comments received from reviewers, stakeholders, other entities.

Site Engineering Support

Ensure start of initial review by Consultant for completeness of electrical facility systems and equipment, Contractor Submittals and RFI(s).

Verifies completeness and adequacy of submittal reviews and RFI responses, validates inter-disciplinary input prior to return to the Contractor.

Assists in validation of record drawings and post-occupancy evaluations.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position during construction as may be appropriate.

Education/Experience

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited university. 10 years minimum engineering and supervision experience in large industrial, commercial and airport projects. Emphasis on electrical systems for facilities as it relates to power distribution systems, motors, generators, relays and protections, supply of power to mechanical equipment and systems as well as fire alarms and detection, CCTV, security systems. Knowledge of control systems as it applies to facilities is a plus. Professional registration is an advantage. Good communication including verbal and written skills required. Knowledge of international standards, codes and regulations required.

Skills/Competencies

Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required.

Role Overview

The objective is to integrate a chemical engineer with 0 to 3 years of working experience in the manufacturing team of Jubail H2O2 production site in Saudi Arabia, in the role of Process/Plant Engineer. Ideally she or he has graduated from University (Master Degree / Engineer) and / or has got a few years of experience in another chemical company.

The ideal candidate should be ready and preferably interested to work abroad in the frame of his or her training, as well as of his or her career development, growing through other national or international assignments within the worldwide industrial environment of Solvay Peroxides. Management positions or Global GBU Technical positions are the long-term objective.

Key tasks / responsibilities

• Acquire solid knowledge and know-how about safety within the H2O2 plant

• Acquire solid knowledge and know-how about H2O2 process

• H2O2 process analysis and follow up

• Ensure that plant and process performances meet targets

• Conduct analysis and process optimizations by using digital tools like Advanced Analytic and Machine Learning

• Apply best practices and conduct excellence initiatives

• Ensure continuous improvement and innovation, including the proposal of capital investments

• Catalyst and organic working solution management

• Support production team in troubleshooting and to meet customer requirements on final product quality and quantities

• Follow-up of industrial investment budgets

• Participate in the implementation and follow up of the plant HSE policies

• Become the technical reference for the production team

• Be active part of the GBU Peroxides Industrial network

• Participate in regional or global projects

You will bring:
Education and experience

University Master Degree (minimum): Chemical Engineering (5 years)
Academic experience: PhD, post graduation R&D work, experimental thesis as plus
International experience: very welcome and an important plus
Working experience in the chemical industry: not strictly required, but welcomed
