Role Purpose

The role of the Director of Finance is to provide to provide continuous leadership in the financial area for the food and beverage business of leisure entertainment and cinemas. This role also is responsible for providing management with guidance and training whilst also focusing on the profitability of the businesses, maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting ensuring acceptable levels of internal control, ensuring compliance with all regulations and policies and procedures and by safeguarding company assets.



Role Details: Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Strategy, Planning & Leadership

 

 

  • Leads and analyzes financial market mapping for assessing viability of new brands
  • Establishes accurate forecasting processes that enable the formulation of informed strategies and direction by departmental leadership
  • Leads budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, and reporting the Leisure, Entertainment & Cinema businesses
  • Drives strong compliance standards - ensure strong ethics, integrity and credibility within the Food and Beverage group
  • Custodian of budget, feasibility studies and channel financial risk management
  • Identifies opportunities to optimize performance and implement performance measures to reach financial goals
  • Analyzes financial data and operations to advise management and to assist in achieving and maintaining the division’s financial objectives
  • Leads financial analysis to assist management in the evaluation of the profitability of income streams as well as the potential for cost efficiencies
  • Monitors revenues/expenses across the food and beverage portfolio and ensures the accurate recording as per established guidelines
  • Investigates and critiques variances to plan or to prior year and offer practical improvement methodologies to management
  • Conducts risks management and continuously reviews all finance policies and internal control procedures, effecting necessary changes where needed
  • Develops and leads weekly/monthly/annual/ financial planning processes for the food and beverage business to establish a department-wide corporate budget that is subsequently approved by the CFO and CEO of Leisure, Entertainment & Cinemas
  • Coordinates, analyzes, and reports the financial performance to CFO and CEO of Leisure, Entertainment and Cinemas (financial performance, projections and other special projects as required)
  • Stays up to date with market trends that are relevant for the industry as well as any finance/accounting changes that would impact the business from an accounting or commercial standpoint
  • Ensures compliance with all contracts, legal agreements, and the proper execution of all operational taxes
  • Work with management in maintaining all licenses, permits, insurance and other regulatory contracts
  • Analyzes financial data and operations to advise management and lead the business in achieving and maintaining the division’s financial objectives
  • Maintains compliance with the DOA and Policies and Procedures of Majid Al Futtaim
  • Establishes and continually audit all internal financial controls including purchasing and cash handling 
  • Lead and develop the Food and Beverage finance team as well as the wider finance population to ensure strong talent pool and succession planning
  • Ensures the effectiveness of debt collection and credit management systems
  • Liaises with internal and external auditors to comply with both statutory and non-statutory requirement

Minimum Qualifications/education

  • Preferably educated to professional level, preferably CA, MBA - Finance
  • CPA, ACA/ACCA certification is a must

General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

  • Contracts (various: including formal, short form, and annual contracts)—drafting, evaluation, negotiation and execution:
  • Non-disclosure agreements, sales/purchasing agreements, sub¬contracts, consulting agreements, licensing agreements, master agreements, review of customer proposed terms and conditions.
  • Serve as the point of contact for customers on contractual matters. Act as contractual “middleman” between company employees and customers, ensuring timely review and approval/reconciliation of variations.

Qualifications

 
  • A degree/diploma in an Engineering discipline is required
  • RICS or similar certifications preferred.
  • 15 or more years’ of working on Multi-Million Dollar projects within the Construction field.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a determination, desire to succeed and a wish to progress and develop within a commercial role.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel and strong user skill level within MS Office or Primavera.

Job Purpose
To provide 24-7 operational support as part of the Emirates Crew Operations team, to facilitate safe and efficient departure and arrival processes for all Flight and Cabin Crew. Reporting to the Deputy Crew Duty Manager, the role is responsible for a wide variety of operational tasks including ensuring the correct number of legal crew report on time for over 200+ departing flights daily, producing destination specific mandatory documentation and providing outstanding customer service at all times for the 6000+ crew that depart / arrive through the Crew Operations facility daily. Job Outline: - Monitor the crew reporting process to ensure that the correct number of rostered crew (based on pre-determined service standards) report on time, with the correct legal documentation and in adherence with the applicable regulatory policies. - Resolve all check-in discrepancies, such as crew no-show, lateness, missing/incorrect documentation, and last-minute sickness. - Oversee the Airport Standby Lounge and facilitate the standby crew allocation process. Ensure that all crew called from airport standby are fully prepared and briefed of the specific requirements for that duty and are provided with the correct documentation. - Execute departmental contingency plans in response to any type of operational disruption including inclement weather, aircraft incident, severe traffic, tunnel closure, system failures etc. - Resolve individual process exceptions through manual intervention and interaction with external (DXB Immigration, Customs and Police teams) and internal (dnata, EKAS, Crew Scheduling) stakeholders. - Initiate mass manual procedures following system outages and mobilise support teams across dnata, EKAS and Central Services to ensure an effective operation and compliance with company and regulatory policies. - Proactively facilitate an efficient crew check in process in by supporting crew facing issues such as ID/Kiosk/Pulse failures, queuing, and baggage drop off delays. - Provide a single point of contact for Crew Operations monitoring and resolving issues during the crew arrival process, including baggage carousel issues, arrival transport delays, Customs and Immigration issues, meeting and assisting sick crew members and the collection and sortation of all relevant arrival flight documentation. - Responsible for the twice daily Health and Safety walk around of the Crew Operations facility across Departures (including 42 crew briefing rooms) and Arrivals, ensuring all issues raised, logged, and followed up with the respective facilities teams.
