Home Affairs: Engagement And Project Officer, Dubai
The role
The Home Affairs Engagement and Project Officer provides critical support to the Regional Director and management team across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to deliver key Home Affairs portfolio functions.
This position requires someone with initiative, flexibility and the capacity to deliver quality results under potential adverse environmental conditions or significant time pressure. You will be a highly motivated team member with experience in project management, including design, monitoring and evaluation, reporting and analysis, along with stakeholder engagement and management.
Excellent written and oral language skills are required in Arabic as well as the ability to interpret and translate between English and Arabic.
Duties include:
The key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Undertake with limited supervision the planning, coordination and facilitation of capacity building projects across the MENA region, including drafting bids, undertaking monitoring and evaluation and project assessment.
Support Australian-based staff to establish, develop and maintain relationships with key officials across the MENA region.
Assist with the planning and delivery of seminars, workshops and other training activities.
Provide quality written reports and effective verbal responses to deal with operational and policy requests and queries.
Maintain a strong understanding of relevant legislation, policy and operational practices relevant to the MENA region relevant to the Home Affairs portfolio.
Support the Regional Director as directed and assist the Consulate management with other duties as required.
Ensure consistent compliance with Austrade policies and procedures, Delegations, the APS Act, and local labour laws within the region.
Work collaboratively within the Austrade network to contribute to service delivery and achieve desired outcomes, while upholding the Austrade’s Values and Code of Conduct and Work Health & Safety (WHS) principles.
