Science Teacher Responsibilities:

Designing, developing, and delivering quality lesson plans and curricula that adhere to national and school guidelines.Drawing up suitable assessments and delivering helpful feedback to students, parents, and other teachers.Setting up demonstrations and assisting and supervising students while they conduct experiments.Providing extra resources, support, and interventions for students who are struggling.Ensuring all permission slips are signed in a timely manner and acting as a field trip chaperone when required.Grading papers, updating records, and handling various administrative tasks.Creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and voicing concerns. Assisting with the recruitment and training of all new teachers and providing support to student teachers.Participating in other school activities and regularly communicating with parents.SkillsDegree in Science or a related discipline.A relevant teaching certificate or license.A completed apprenticeship or teaching experience.Practical experience with MS Office, Google Classroom, and other software.Dedication, patience, and the ability to remain calm in tense situations.The ability to answer sensitive questions and create an environment where everyone s opinions are respected.A passion for science and a commitment to continuing education.Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills.

The British Embassy in Muscat is looking to appoint a Digital Hub Intern to start as soon as possible.

Main Purpose of the Job: To support the UK Oman Digital Hub in building digital skills, innovation, entrepreneurship and cyber security capabilities across Oman. Key Duties and Responsibilities: The Intern will work directly to support British Embassy Muscat's new initiative, the UK Oman Digital Hub, designed to raise digital skills, innovation, entrepreneurship and cyber security across Oman. The intern will have three key roles:

Supporting and, where possible, leading the delivery of several key projects including organising the Artificial Intelligence Deep-Dive, the National Capture the Flag event, Tech Incubator Support, Strategic Cyber Exercise in Universities, Cyber Schools Twinning, National Internships programme and the development of enhanced links between UK and Omani Universities

Representing the Digital Hub externally; attending events in the Omani tech space and identifying new projects that the Hub can support and deliver in Financial Year 2020/2021

Producing social media content from the above and other unique projects, including the Omani-UK Student of the Week.

Key Competencies: The candidate will need to demonstrate the following competencies during the interview:

Essential qualifications, skills and experience

Professional fluency in English and Arabic both written and spoken

Competent IT skills; good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Microsoft Word.

Experience in the Omani Digital and Tech Sector

Social Media Skills

Evidence of project delivery and management

The Role

m2r Education are working with this rapidly expanding COBIS accredited British international school based in Muscat, Oman. They need a British SEN to join in August 2020. The school is a new innovative British school which opened in September 2016. Initially welcoming both expatriate and local Omani children from the ages of 3 to 12 in their Pre-prep and Prep school, with children progressing organically through the school on a year by year basis, ultimately providing a British Education for children from 3 to 18 years of age. They currently have children of 38 different nationalities enrolled in the school. Requirements: . UK passport holder . Min 4 years exp + related degree and PGCE Package: . Initial contracts are until the end of the academic year with the possibility of a 2yr contract offer, dependent upon performance. . FROM 1200 - 1600 OMR (28k - 38k) TAX FREE, dependent upon experience - this INCLUDES the accommodation allowance of 425 OMR per month. .
