Job summary

A Senior General Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining a company's financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and preparing financial statements. Key duties include overseeing general ledger activities, performing bank and vendor reconciliations, and leading month-end and year-end closing processes. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, leadership skills to mentor junior staff, and the ability to collaborate with other departments to maintain internal controls and support audits.

Key role and responsibility: -

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Perform bank and vendor reconciliations.  Assist with budgeting, financial forecasting, and tax preparation.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis.
• Develop and implement internal controls and accounting policies.
• Review the work of junior accountants and provide guidance and training.
• Liaise with other departments to ensure financial data accurac

About You

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), IFRS and ERP.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced skills in MS Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with tax compliance (e.g., GST, TDS) is often required, particularly in specific regions.
• Experience with e-commerce financial processes may be a plus.
