We need an Expense Accountant,

Job Description

The Expense Accountant is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of employee and operational expenses, ensuring all transactions are accurate, timely, and compliant with company policies. This role contributes to financial reporting, cost control, and audit readiness while working closely with internal departments to support efficient expense processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and process employee and operational expense claims in accordance with company policy
• Post expenses accurately in the general ledger with correct cost allocation and timely reimbursement
• Reconcile travel, entertainment, petty cash, and other operating expenses
• Coordinate with HR, payroll, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure alignment on expenses and cost mapping
• Track spending against departmental budgets and report variances
• Prepare periodic expense reports for management and audit purposes
• Support month-end closing activities and provide documentation for internal and external audits

Skills

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, etc.)
• Solid understanding of expense accounting and general ledger entries
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to identify discrepancies or unusual trends
• Clear communicator with cross-functional collaboration skills
• Efficient in time management and high-volume transaction handling
• Proactive in compliance, reporting accuracy, and process improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2-5 years of experience in expense accounting or accounts payable
• Familiarity with tax rules for employee reimbursements is an advantage
• Experience supporting audits and financial documentation control
• Fluency in English is required; Arabic is a plus
• Preference will be given to Saudi nationals
