JOB DESCRIPTION
Wood is looking for a Regional HSSES Senior Manager for Middle East, Africa & Caspian (MEAC). This role will be based in Abu Dhabi and will sit on the MEAC Leadership Team. The successful candidate will partner with the business to drive Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Sustainability standards, culture, and continuous improvements across the region.
This role will lead a team of HSSES professionals to provide timely advice, guidance and support on all matters pertaining to HSSES across a diverse portfolio of projects
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the MEA Leadership Team by providing strong, visible, and positive HSSES leadership at all times
Promote the adoption of HSSES best practice and values, as well as the development and roll-out of Wood HSSES objectives
Ensure HSSES legislation is complied with and report any breaches
Ensure that all HSSES documentation is kept up-to-date and ensure policies and practices are both applied and effective, by means of a structured and risk-based assurance process
Contribute to monthly Management Team meetings, with accountability for reporting on all HSSES statistics and performance against objectives
Interface with the HSSES Leadership across the globe
Take an active role in HSSES leadership of site and office-based activities
Ensure that internal and external compliance certifications remain operational and supervise the recertification process with 3rd parties
Ensure close out of assurance and / or audit findings, competent audit reports and proper and effective corrective and preventive actions
Maintain positive relationships with Client Representatives and Project Management to ensure business needs are understood and achieved
Monitor current project work scopes and ensure HSSES support is suitably resourced
Manage, mentor and monitor the performance and development of direct reports
Lead and coordinate the accident and incident investigation process, and share learnings across the businessa
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
Degree in relevant HSSES discipline or similar.
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
Lead/Senior Investigator qualification
Lead auditor qualification
Job specific experience:
12+ years HSSES experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role
Experience of working in and managing a HSSES Management System environment
Experience in HSSES Management and legal requirements across key geographies within MEAC
Worksite experience in Energy, O&G, Petrochemical or similar industry
Supervisory and/or direct management experience of a team of HSSES Professionals
Qualifications

Good understanding of the Wood’s business interests in MEAC region
