Your Role
Gensler’s Middle East is seeking an exceptionally talented and passionate Landscape Architect to join our team of design thinkers and doers who specialise in helping to tell stories and create experiences in the context of the built environment. You will work on a broad range of projects as part of a multidisciplinary professional group that includes landscape and urban designers, architects and interior designers.
What You Will Do
As a Landscape Architect, you are innovative and passionate, with amazing concept schemes, an understanding of technical delivery, with experience in the Middle East and Internationally. You can work independently or as part of a team and with other practices within the office. Be an advocate for Gensler sustainability commitments internally and externally.
Assist with the design and development of landscape architecture projects, including site analysis, conceptual design, design development, and construction documentation.
Conduct site visits and perform site analysis to inform design decisions.
Participate in meetings with clients, consultants, and project teams.
Collaborate with project teams to develop and present design concepts and ideas.
Assist with project management tasks, such as scheduling and budgeting.
Develop background information for projects and speculative work.
Prepare drawings, renderings, and other graphic materials to communicate design ideas and concepts.
Understand and coordinate technical data on drawings.
Prepare exhibition boards for client and public presentations.
Attend meetings and provide email/communication with consultants.
Support project sustainability targets throughout project phases and actively engage in delivering them.
Study sustainable design strategies in every project stage and investigate solutions to sustainable design challenges.
Work collaboratively with the team to optimize sustainability performance through design iterations and research.
Engage in climate focused analysis and studies for each project.
Your Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
2+ years of experience in landscape architecture or a related field.
Strong design skills and a passion for creating innovative and sustainable design solutions.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant design software.
Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of sustainable design principles and practices.
Good understanding of local and international design standards and requirements
High level of verbal, written and graphic communication skills including freehand sketching and variety of computer aided mediums.
Knowledge in sustainable design principles required.
LEED, WELL, Fitwel, LFA or other rating systems accreditation preferable.
Demonstrate a collaborative and integrated approach towards achieving high sustainability project goals.
Motivated to grow knowledge and experience in sustainability on a personal and a team level.
Your Design Technology Qualifications:
Essential
Good working knowledge and experience in Autodesk Revit for design authoring, documentation, data extracts and project delivery.
Good working knowledge and experience in Rhinoceros for design authoring.
Basic understanding and familiarity with real-time rendering processes, and material creation & management within the context of integrated BIM and parametric workflows.
Desirable
Basic understanding of the principles of multi-model collaboration.
Basic understanding and familiarity with interoperability workflows between various design tools such as, AutoCad, Revit, Rhino, etc
Basic understanding and familiarity with Computational Design applications such as Grasshopper and/or Dynamo.
Basic understanding and familiarity with the use of VR walkthroughs and panoramas.
