Underwater Service Manager, Hull Performance

Hempel is a leading coating manufacturer that delivers solutions to clients which affect their operation as well as the environment. One of our key solutions is marine coatings that save fuel for our clients and reduce CO2 emissions. It is a strategic priority for Hempel to be a trusted partner for our customers during their vessels operations and therefore we have a programme, SHAPE (Systems for Hull and Propeller Efficiency) dedicated to analysing AIS and performance data together with the vessels underwater condition, and advise our customers on the best route forward. This is where you come in.
As a SHAPE Underwater Service Manager at Hempel, you will be part of the underwater service team and be responsible for scoping and managing underwater operations as well as providing guidance during these operations and analysing the footage and results. These operations are primarily completed via 3rd party service suppliers, with in-house ROV inspection capabilities in some locations also present. You will work cross-functionally with the rest of the SHAPE team, with our sales colleagues, as well as with our customers and with underwater service suppliers.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
The SHAPE Underwater Service Manager will be directly responsible for analytics and advisory on underwater Service operations in a given time zone and geographical area. Key responsibilities include scoping services in collaboration with sales managers and customers liaison, providing post service analysis include observations, root cause analysis and recommended next steps in accordance with the guidance provided by the Underwater Service team. In addition, you will be responsible to develop and manage good relationships with our suppliers and be part of pushing Hempel to industry-leading capabilities in understanding the patterns and root causes for fouling development and the required actions to maintain a vessels' hull in the best possible condition.
What does it take to become an UW Service Manager at Hempel?
We are looking for a candidate with:
Experience with vessel performance and/or the underwater services industry
Ideally some vessel management experience on an operational or technical level.
Operational experience with a track record of close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders across functions
Highly structured mindset with attention to detail and ability to get things done at short notice
High interest in further developing fouling knowledge and being part of pushing the knowledge base of fouling analysis, root causes and recommended next steps
A self-motivated, energetic, and proactive mindset
Strong business English skills (corporate language)
Good communication skills and desire to work with teams with diversified backgrounds.
