Provide support to the Business Unit, through information analysis, preparation of operational data/ analyses for publication to various constituents (Management, Sales, Operations etc), who rely on/ benefit from the information to make business decisions. Primary responsibilities will include assisting the Senior Finance Manager in setting up new and improving existing processes and controls for periodic finance review, operations review, identification of areas for operational improvements, annual Budget and Mid-Year Review process, periodic forecasting, and periodic analysis of operations performance.
Your role responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Support in developing annual operating and capital Budgets, including P&L and Balance Sheet
Develop and analyze monthly forecasts (POR) for the business unit; identify business risks as they arise and propose mitigation strategies.
Co-ordinate budgets and forecast (POR) preparation process with department leads; provide finance advice to regional managers, department leaders and senior management in matters of budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.
Prepare and coordinate segment level, regional level budgets and including the system uploads.
Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes, meeting reporting deadlines of the business unit and explaining variations to forecasts/POR.
Managing the organization’s monthly reporting process; ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information to internal and external stakeholders in compliance with reporting requirements.
Review monthly P&L and balance sheets. Analyze variance vs POR, communicate to management, and take necessary actions to bridge the gap.
Consolidate large amounts of complex information into simple and easy to understand reports for Business Unit stakeholders.
Support on standard Emerson Planning Cycle exhibits including (Backlog aging / Destination Orders / Sales, TWC)
Ensure audit activities are completed in a timely manner by delivery information in time and managing resources effectively.
Contribute team playing, creative thinking and solutions that help achieve organizational objectives, implement process improvements and efficiencies in performing tasks.
Support Business System integration initiative & work effectively with back office team
Any other duties as deemed appropriate by your line manager.
What do I need to be considered for this role?
Accounting or Finance Degree
Chartered Accountant / CPA / MBA
5 Years of experience in Corporate Accounting and/or Finance.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office in general, expertise in Excel and PowerPoint
Ability & Interest in quickly learning to extract data from other business systems (JDE, Hyperion, Oracle)
Keen on details
Experience in FP&A role is beneficial
English Required – Fluent
