Be part of our EHS team as an HSE Officer (Site based) in Riyadh, KSA.
What are my responsibilities?
Implement the organization's workplace HSE policies, procedures, and programs that align with the project's goals and objectives.
Ensure adherence to HSE standards for legal requirements and company policies while meeting all client and project-specific needs.
Develop & deliver training programs HSE training to employees and contractors to raise awareness of potential hazards and safe work practices.
Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify potential hazards and assess risks associated with the project's activities and offer guidance to mitigate risks and minimize accidents and their impacts on the project.
Lead investigations into any incidents, accidents, or near-misses that occur during the project and recommend corrective and preventive actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Participate in both internal and external audits, as well as client compliance audits.
Develop and implement corrective action plans and closeout reports for identified gaps during audits.
Collect and measure HSE data, provide regular HSE performance reports with corresponding action, and lead HSE meetings with relevant stakeholders to review and discuss progress.
Create safety and health program promotional materials, bulletins, and reports to communicate HSE updates to all staff members.
Conduct regular inspections of the worksite and subcontractor facilities, and provide recommendations for corrective actions and additional precautions to ensure full compliance.
Coach on-site personnel with best practices and maintain vigilance on-site.
Stay up-to-date with current HSE practices by attending relevant courses and continuing education.
Accountable for following occupational health, safety, security, and environmental guidelines.
Notify the Project HSE Manager and the Head of QM&EHS of any areas that need improvement, ensuring prompt attention to enhance overall HSE performance.
What do I need to qualify for the role?
Degree/Diploma in Safety or Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
Minimum 5 years’ HSE/Safety experience in a Project-based environment.
Knowledge of relevant HSSE regulations, codes, and standards, such as OSHA, ISO, and IATA and the ability to apply them in the workplace.
Ability to conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and assess risks associated with the project's activities.
Experience in writing incident, investigation, root cause analysis reports, and policies for health and safety.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify HSE issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Ability to deliver training programs and conduct emergency drills to ensure that all employees are aware of their HSE responsibilities and can respond appropriately in emergency situations.
Diligent with great attention to detail, and good organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate HSE policies, procedures, and programs to all stakeholders and employees.
Relevant certification in occupational health and safety.
Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus.
