Wood is currently looking for a Technical Assistant, to be based in Dubai
Typical responsibilities
Assist the Engineering Manager with Engineering Induction for new joiners and support refresher session with existing team members
Maintain competency of all team members and follow up for competency assessment for team members with expiring validity. In addition, maintain competency assessment tracker and send reminders before expiration of validity.
Arranging meetings and scribe for technical meetings including engineering lessons learnt sessions
Maintain records for all trainings with attendance forms and on-the-job training forms
Maintain discipline folders in cloud drive, including maintain consistency
Maintain the team list and update joiners and leavers
Arrange engineering team celebrations
Create content for uploading into internal social media platform
Prepare new candidate CVs for client approval, liaise with project control for PAAF approval and liaise with recruitment for mobilization
Interface with coordinating with Lead/Discipline Engineers, Technical Specialists, Project Managers, and external parties as required.
Liaising with the project secretaries for onshore department travel related activities.
Assisting the Engineering Manager in all aspects of Engineering department administration
Skills / Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Attention to details.
Proficiency in English and creative writing
Expertise in photoshop
Expertise in Autocad to support with minor drawing modifications.
Expected
Excellent written English and good communication skills. Attention to detail is a must.
Confident, organised, motivated and proactive team player with a challenging approach and a “can do attitude”.
Clear, concise, and confident in spoken and written English.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with, coordinate activities and maintain relationships with colleagues, and clients effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
Desirable
Previous experience as coordinator (minimum 1 year)
Handle scheduling, record-keeping, and reporting
Assist with publicity materials for Internal social media page
Software Skills
Ms Office suite of programmes (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
