Acre have partnered with Aggreko to build a team of sustainability leaders to help implement its ambitious sustainability framework in each of its regions.

​

As the ESG Lead - Middle East and Africa (MEA), you will be responsible for leading the implementation of Aggreko's ESG strategy and targets in the Middle East. As part of this exciting role, you will be responsible for driving a change program to reduce emissions from their activities, supporting customers in accelerating the energy transition, and supporting the communication strategy to enable stakeholders to better understand the strategic role Aggreko plays in the energy transition.

In this role you will be:

Working with business owners to develop and implement action plans designed to improve efficiency and reduce emissions from Aggreko facilities and operations

Working closely with the commercial teams, marketing and communications to understand customer requirements, help develop tailored proposals that showcase Aggreko's capabilities and communicate the ESG benefits of Aggreko solutions

Identifying the sources of emissions at Aggreko facilities across the region and developing methods to accurately measure and track sustainability data and interventions

Working with the SLT to support community engagement, health and well-being and other social value and governance activities which support Aggreko's wider ESG strategy and targets

Great understanding of the energy transition and the challenges Aggreko's customers face as they look to transition to more sustainable solutions

Key understanding of energy storage, solar and alternative fuels and the roles they play in the energy transition

Experience delivering projects designed to have a positive environmental and social impact

Excellent communicator and trainer, able to explain complex climate concepts and strategies to influence behaviours

An individual who enjoys a challenge and is able to drive change through collaborative relationships with key stakeholders around the business

Job Description

The role

This role sits within the C&MD team and works closely with the Head of Marketing and the BD team in the Middle East as well as the General Manager of Clifford Chance with a focus on the Saudi Arabian market.

In this role you will work primarily with partners and other lawyers dedicated to our Saudi Arabia practice at both Clifford Chance and AS&H Clifford Chance, as well as the broader CMD function, to assist with the delivery of top-quality BD and marketing materials as well as to provide organisational support on a range of initiatives.   

Key Responsibilities

Depending on practice needs, the person in this role will be responsible for a range of activities which surround our Saudi Arabia practice, including:

Assisting on the production of formal pitch documentation and ad hoc capability statements for the Saudi Arabia practice

Facilitating the capture of matter credentials in the experience management system

Assisting with the maintenance of matter credentials in client and marketing materials in global pitch systems.

Assisting with the production and delivery of internal and external marketing communications e.g., press releases, intranet updates, social media posts, website updates etc.

Assisting with the provision of client focused briefings and market profiling content through digital and non-digital channels.  

Assisting in the coordination and production of directory, awards and league table submissions.

Develop strong working relationships with other areas of the firm, in particular the Business Support teams based in India, as well as the Legal Secretaries, our regional Accounts, Best Delivery, HR and IT teams; and also become a proficient user of services provided by each of these groups. 

Qualifications

Your experience

The successful candidate should have:

A positive attitude and desire to build a solid career in the legal or professional services industry.

A desire to work in a fast-paced environment, be adaptable to change and have the flexibility to adjust work schedule according to workload demands or planned events.

A strong interest to learn about the Saudi Arabian market 

The ability to multi-task, which will be key whilst remaining on top of the workload.  

Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with demonstrated service orientation.

Strong general software skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc) and ideally some exposure to webpage/intranet development. 

Excellent project management, organisational and planning skills with ability to prioritise multiple tasks and projects and meet deadlines.

High level of attention to detail and meticulous follow-through.

High level of maturity and confidence necessary to interact with firm lawyers.

Analytical thought and problem-solving skills.

Ability to be self-motivated and work independently with minimal supervision.

Native level English, both spoken and written (additional Arabic language skills preferred).

Bachelor's degree from a reputed institute.

8-10 years of work experience in a professional service, matrix organisation, partnership or large corporate environment.

Our client is a leading renewable energy provider. They are now looking for a Senior Manager – Corporate Finance to join them.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

Lead detailed financial analysis of various financing options and drive selection and execution of preferred approach, with strong focus on timing and budget.

Develop and maintain successful relationships with financing parties, including tax, equity investors, lenders, project investors and others.

Lead evaluation and execution of M&A opportunities; presenting opportunities to senior management and negotiating all transaction related documentation.

Manage entire execution process and communicate with tax, technical, insurance, legal advisors to ensure due diligence is completed efficiently and in a timely manner.

Work closely with the internal business development, technical, risk and legal teams to consolidate all elements of a project into a viable project financing structure to be financed either stand-alone or as part of a portfolio.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 7 years of relevant financing and M&A experience.

Experience in renewable energy (focus on solar power is preferred).

Yellow Door Energy (‘YDE’) is the leading sustainable energy partner for businesses, serving commercial and industrial customers in the Middle East and Africa region. The company’s solar and energy efficiency solutions enable businesses to reduce energy costs, improve power reliability and reduce carbon emissions. Yellow Door Energy’s shareholders include Actis, International Finance Corporation (IFC), Mitsui & Co., Ltd. and APICORP.

The company is seeking an experienced corporate finance professional with debt raising and M&A experience to support YDEs rapid growth across its markets. The candidate will have 7 – 10 years of relevant experience in (1) executing various types of debt with a strong focus on non-recourse project finance and (2) evaluating and executing all aspects of M&A transactions. The ideal candidate will have experience in the renewables sector and be able to provide financial analyses, conduct due diligence and deal structuring expertise to support the successful execution of complex transactions. This position is based in Dubai, UAE, the candidate will report to the VP Corporate Finance and will work closely with the CFO.

Principle responsibilities include:

Lead detailed financial analysis of various financing options and drive selection and execution of preferred approach, with strong focus on timing and budget.

Develop and maintain successful relationships with financing parties, including tax, equity investors, lenders, project investors and others.

Lead evaluation and execution of M&A opportunities; presenting opportunities to senior management and negotiating all transaction related documentation.

Manage entire execution process and communicate with tax, technical, insurance, legal advisors to ensure due diligence is completed efficiently and in a timely manner.

Work closely with the internal business development, technical, risk and legal teams to consolidate all elements of a project into a viable project financing structure to be financed either stand-alone or as part of a portfolio.

 

Key Result Areas and Responsibilities

KRA 1: Support project finance, corporate finance and M&A execution

Communicates with counterparty's deal team. 

Coordinates with external advisors and manages day-to-day tasks such as due-diligence, structuring, negotiating, and closing transactions.

Validates and updates the financial model related to the transaction. 

Supports other members of the team to complete the above tasks.

Supports the senior management in making investment decisions and communicate the same to YDE’s shareholders.

KRA 2: Support in structuring transactions

Proposes optimal financing structures and internal restructuring solutions to optimize YDE's financing and operating activities.

Works alongside the finance team to produce cash flow forecasts related to the project financing activities.

Identifies appropriate M&A targets that fit the long-term strategy of the company.

Interacts with the YDE Business Development and Risk teams to improve bankability of assets, engineer novel solutions to mitigate risks.

KRA 3: Stakeholder Management

Proactively reaches out to the potential lenders, equity partners as well as advisors.

Supports in managing the relationship with YDE’s lenders, equity partners and other financing stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.

 

Requirements

Educational background and Experience

Essential:

BA/ MBA / Masters in finance and / or relevant engineering field and / or accounting.

Minimum of 7 years of relevant financing and M&A experience.

Experience in renewable energy (focus on solar power is preferred).

Track record of successfully closing several non-recourse project-financings and M&A transactions.

 

Preferred:

Experience in the solar industry.

10+ years of relevant experience.

Ability to commence employment soon.

Functional Competencies

Understands optimal financing structures, describes with confidence key risks in transactions and suggests mitigation strategies and effectively manages advisors and internal stakeholders in meeting deliverables.

Demonstrates strong knowledge to work with financial models for debt and M&A transactions including identifying and running sensitivities.  ​

Has awareness of key commercial principles and financing requirements of the company across geographies, jurisdictions and projects​ and provides comments on key documents.

Actively supports the VPs/CFO in managing relationships with key debt and equity investors as well as actively supports/owns major workstreams and relevant investor relationships with limited supervision.

Core Competencies

Speaks with confidence, establishes interest and rapport with the audience and presents complex concepts in practical terms.

Solves problems using creativity and strong evidence-based analysis to identify options or outputs in own work area with limited supervision.

Creates concise and well-written material by adapting to its audience’s knowledge, introducing the topic, explaining key points, offering clear conclusions and next steps.

Demonstrates strong attention to detail (including grammar and punctuation).

Plans current and future work with minimal guidance and delivers results against timelines.
