Role Summary

As a part of the Regional Rider Affairs team, a center of excellence for Safety, Quality, Engagement, Equipment & Warehousing, you will become an integral part of our mission to improve riders & overall well-being impacting 80,000+ riders.

This role will directly impact health, safety and rider uniforms, which includes extending to warehousing across the MENA region and being involved in our super exciting tech solutions.

What’s On Your Plate?

Assist in analyzing the data to understand the top focus areas for improvement

Assist in implementing region-wide action plans suggest ideas based on industry research and rider feedback

Support with tasks such as taking and distributing meeting minutes, following up on task completion and creating presentation materials

Support in execution of specific objectives, such as road safety weeks, social media rider safety campaigns and the implementation of innovative technology solutions, to name a few

Measure the success of initiatives to quantify the impact, iterate and improve.

Support local teams in documenting action plans and local adaptations of regional initiatives. Ensure timely project delivery and clear progress reporting.

What Did We Order?

A purpose-driven individual who can strengthen the Regional Rider Affairs team

Data-driven, likes to analyze data, derive insights and present findings concisely. Critical thinking is a must, previous experience with analytical tools (Excel, Gsheets, Tableau, Looker or equivalent) is desired.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Urdu or Arabic language skills are a plus.

Organized, with keen attention to detail and high standards of quality of work

Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can easily adapt to change and multitasking

A self-motivated and curious personality, that enjoys researching industry practices and going the extra mile to make an impact on our riders' well-being and happiness

Advantageous but not essential is to have a safety qualification either IOSH or Nebosh IGC individual or full

What you'll be doing  

At Chalhoub, creativity is a team effort! You will be part of the founding team of Chalhoub Group’s in house studio, and specifically responsible to plan and manage the Product In and Product Out workflows. You will act as the detail-oriented link between the on-set teams and the supply chain teams, helping to organize product to come into the studio and be ready for processing through the shoot workflows. Experience in a fast-paced product processing role is required, eg a warehouse, ideally for an E-com retailer in fashion or homeware.

Work closely with the studio management as well as supply chain & logistics team to plan and manage product deliveries in and out of the studio, designing delivery schedules timed best for both the studio and other key stakeholders

Manage sample management process including any import related requirements

Work closely with the studio management team to understand how to best allocate and arrange product for shoots for a variety of brands and type of products

Follow all relevant eCommerce policies, processes and standard operating procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner

Maintain orderly and neat stock and receiving area

Govern the product in and out scanning process and produce relevant reporting for supply chain side like intake and outflow reports to ensure there is no product loss

Maintain an overview of where product is with the studio workflows and how we are tracking against SLAs

Manage process to deal with damaged products or any other stock related queries

Manage one product runner and identify additional resource needs based on intake estimates

Support on set teams with any trouble shooting on the day

Promote efficiency and ensure daily goals are met

Build strong cross functional relationships across the organization, internally and externally

Raise Purchase Orders and maintain budget tracking for any logistics related expenses

Manage consumables stock and replenishment for the goods in and out areas

Nurture a culture of transparency & accountability

What you’ll need to succeed  

4-5 years as part of product movement team in a fast-paced product processing role, eg a warehouse, ideally for an E-com retailer in fashion or homeware.

At home in fast paced studio environment working collaboratively across disciplines

Strong attention to detail and the ability to creatively problem-solve and troubleshoot issues while remaining calm under pressure

Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure with a can-do attitude and smile on your face 

Strong communication skills both in person and via email & phone

Critical thinking / using logic and reasoning to identify issues upfront and ability to propose alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to opportunities

Flexibility, willingness to shift gears to meet project deadlines and deliverables

Familiarity with using Studio workflow tools, warehouse management tools and Oracle will be beneficial

Core Accountabilities

• Perform tests of weapons submitted in order to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations and support.

• Conduct daily testing safety meetings to ensure that all members of the test are fully aware of safety conditions, procedures and protocols.

• Carefully and accurately evaluates, documents, and quantifies all areas of performance of prototype, pre-production, and production weapons.

• Attend mock-up checks of products under development to ensure suitable ergonomics and acceptable functional design.

• Carryout the Accessories Testing Group in the evaluation of accessory products installed on weapons and the effect that those parts have on the dynamics of the weapons.

• Perform mechanical work during testing as required including replacing various parts as necessary for evaluation testing purposes.

• Carryout the preventative maintenance and service on department and test units as necessary including cleaning, lubricating and replacing worn or damaged parts.

• Maintain a working knowledge of Caracal’s and competitive unit’s technological and mechanical advances.

• Attend and/or support with all types of consumer research events including focus groups, one-on-one interviews, and “demonstration” events;

• Periodically participate in events to maintain the physical and mental skill level necessary to perform product evaluation and endurance testing.

 

Experience & Educational Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical / Production).

• 3-5 years of experience in weapons test or test lab. 

• Experience in formal weapons test programs, understanding of building written testing protocols, and test plans, gathering all and reporting all data delivered for the individual tests.

• Understanding of computer-aided design and metalworking preferred. 

• Understands military standard requirements and test protocols.

• Proven ability to gather and analyze information skillfully and generate creative solutions while completing test projects on time and budget. 

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations (CIP, NATO SAAMI preferred). 

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and/or clients. 

 

Key Skills

• Familiar with testing methods in accordance with most applicable military standards.

• Knowledge of firearms and systems accessories’ safety, ergonomics, functional and performance requirements.

• Excellent manual dexterity

• Problem-solving skills
